EYOS Expeditions has been designing private super-yacht expeditions since 2008, and today the company is widely recognized as the world leader in their industry. Each year, they operate over 50 expeditions in challenging, remote environments for the most prestigious yachts in the world, and their staff have cumulatively led over 1,200 safe Antarctic expeditions. ever “single cabin” departures whereby clients could book individual cabins on a yacht. They hold several ‘world’s firsts,’ and they are a two-time Guinness Book of World Record holder for the furthest south that any vessel has ever reached in history. In 2015, they were invited to be a design partner by Damen shipyards to develop the SeaXplorer expedition yacht and most recently, EYOS has managed and led the historic “Five Deeps” expedition, which includes plans for the deepest manned dive ever in history.

Why Antarctica? Because there is nowhere else like it. The coldest, driest and most remote continent on Earth is a place where ice stretches beyond the horizon, mountains rise directly from the sea and wildlife still gathers in extraordinary numbers.

But Antarctica’s appeal goes beyond what you see. It is the silence of a glacier-filled bay, the scale of an iceberg towering above the water, thousands of penguins gathered along a distant shoreline or a whale surfacing nearby. For generations, Antarctica has drawn explorers, scientists and adventurers to the end of the Earth. Today, it remains one of the few places capable of making even the most experienced travelers feel as though they are seeing our planet for the first time.

There is more than one way to reach Antarctica. EYOS pioneered fly in, fly out private aviation for Antarctic yacht expeditions, allowing guests to bypass the Drake Passage and join their yacht directly in Antarctica. In August, EYOS ventured into the remote wilderness of East Greenland aboard Aqua Lares, navigating the immense waterways of Scoresby Sund, the largest fjord system in the world.

The expedition was in search of a phenomenon even rarer than Greenland’s glacial ice and Arctic wildlife. From within the path of totality, guests watched as a total solar eclipse passed over Greenland, plunging the fjords and ice into an extraordinary, fleeting twilight.

Photographer David Wright documented the journey, capturing both the otherworldly atmosphere of the eclipse and the elemental landscapes of East Greenland that surrounded it.

Some of Antarctica’s most memorable moments begin with stepping into a Zodiac. Carried aboard expedition yachts, these small, remarkably capable boats allow us to leave the yacht behind and explore at water level. They take us through ice-strewn passages, beneath towering cliffs and into quiet coves, and serve as our landing craft when it is time to step ashore on a remote Antarctic beach.

There is something unforgettable about gliding across the water with icebergs around you, mountains rising from the coast and wildlife appearing at eye level. The yacht may bring you to Antarctica, but the Zodiac can take you into the places that make the continent feel truly wild.

For EYOS, they are an essential part of exploration, allowing us to get closer, go ashore and experience corners of the White Continent that simply cannot be reached any other way.

There is perhaps no better way to experience Iceland than from the water. Known as the land of fire and ice, Iceland is a place of extraordinary contrasts. Glaciers and icecaps meet active volcanoes and geothermal springs, while waterfalls tumble toward a coastline of towering sea cliffs, black-sand beaches and quiet fjords.

Exploring by yacht offers a perspective few visitors experience. Rather than being tied to roads and hotels, the journey moves with the landscape and the conditions. Wake at anchor in a remote fjord, take a Zodiac ashore to explore an isolated stretch of coastline, or reposition overnight to make the most of the weather, wildlife and opportunities that each day presents.

Next summer, Solace will head north to Greenland, offering the opportunity to explore one of the Arctic’s most spectacular and remote coastlines by private yacht.

Greenland is a landscape shaped by ice on an immense scale. Towering glaciers descend into deep fjords, enormous icebergs drift along the coast, and colorful settlements sit between mountains and sea. Beyond them lies a vast wilderness where each day is dictated by weather, ice and the opportunities that emerge along the way.

Recently refitted for global exploration, the 57-meter Solace accommodates 12 guests and carries an extensive collection of expedition equipment, including a 12-meter expedition and dive tender, providing a versatile base for exploring far beyond the yacht itself.

Congratulations to Victor Vescovo on the official naming of Factorian Deep, the deepest point in the Southern Ocean, in honor of his submersible, Limiting Factor.

EYOS worked alongside Victor throughout the Five Deeps Expedition, an extraordinary undertaking that saw the deepest point in each of the world’s five oceans reached and extensively explored.

Factorian Deep was first identified and explored during the expedition, and its official naming now leaves a permanent mark on the map from a remarkable chapter in the history of ocean exploration.

Congratulations to Victor and everyone involved in making it possible.

A special day aboard Lamima, welcoming students from Labuan Bajo 1 State School for a day on the water.

The students spent the day experiencing life aboard Lamima, sharing lunch on deck and making the most of the yacht’s tenders and water toys. From rides across the bay to swimming, games and plenty of time in the water, the day was filled with new experiences and a lot of smiles.

Lamima is much more than just a yacht. She is a floating extension of Indonesia, reflecting the country’s spirit, warmth and deep connection to the communities she calls home. Her commitment to giving back and creating experiences like this is part of what makes Lamima so special, bringing guests and local communities closer together while celebrating the people and places that define Indonesia.
