Despite the inclement weather today halting our Memorial Day Parade, our amazing community gathered inside Pemetic School to remember, honor, and celebrate the lives of the brave men and women who sacrificed everything for us, our freedom, and our country. We will never forget.

The student bands played, “In Flanders Fields” was recited, student essays were read, and the fallen were honored. Our community showed up for those we lost and showed unwavering support for the veterans who served - and those who continue to serve today.

Afterward, we gathered at Common Good Food Kitchen, where we were greeted with tasty donuts, fresh popovers, and hot coffee to warm us on this cool and rainy day. Stories were shared, respects were paid, and we all came together for a common cause - to honor our fallen heros.

Thank you to everyone involved for the tremendous effort put into making today special for our past and present veterans, as well as for our entire community.

* Memorial Day Parade Weather Plan Update *

Due to the forecasted heavy rain expected on Monday, May 25th, we have made the difficult decision to transition our Memorial Day Parade to an indoor ceremony.

While we are disappointed we will not be able to march together through our community this year, our mission remains the same - to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

The Memorial Day Ceremony will now be held indoors at the Pemetic Elementary School gym beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by coffee and donuts at the Common Good Soup Kitchen right next door. We invite everyone to join us as we come together in remembrance, reflection, and gratitude.

Thank you for your understanding, continued support, and dedication to honoring our nation’s heroes.
