“I built Rise & Shine to change the life of one person; now it’s changing many. For me, legacy is not about what I get to take away – it’s about what I get to leave behind.”

Last week, Springfield entrepreneur Cynthia Koza announced that Rise & Shine is officially an employee-owned company, giving the approximately 250 people who have helped build the Springfield caregiving agency an opportunity to share in the value they are creating.

The decision marks a significant new chapter for a company Koza founded with social impact at the center of its mission and reflects her determination that its impact continue long after her own tenure.

Preparing the packaging product 📦

At the recent Chamber Roundtable + Tour, attendees gained an inside look at the 2025 Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Pillar of the Community and global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, International Paper.

International Paper's Springfield facility produces linerboard, a key component of corrugated paper boxes, with recycled and renewable materials.

Through presentations and a tour of the Springfield Containerboard Mill, this event highlighted International Paper's long-standing commitment to responsible operations and community growth, which has established the company as an integral contributor to Springfield's economy.

ANOTHER HEALTHCARE MILESTONE for Springfield! 🏥💚

We were proud to join PeaceHealth last week to celebrate its new inpatient rehabilitation hospital – a 42-bed facility that will expand access to specialized rehabilitation care and allow more patients and families to receive critical services closer to home. We were also grateful to receive a tour of the state-of-the-art facility!

The new hospital is Oregon’s first freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital and will bring dedicated traumatic brain injury rehabilitation services to our state – an important new resource for patients in Lane County and across Oregon.

Investments like this expand access to critical care, create good jobs, and strengthen Springfield’s growing role as a regional healthcare hub. We’re grateful for Chamber member PeaceHealth’s continued investment in our community and the many partners who helped bring this vision to life.

YEE-HAW! 🤠✂️ Springfield welcomed a new addition to the The Shoppes at Gateway on Friday as we celebrated the grand opening of Boot Barn with an official ribbon cutting!

The new store looks fantastic – light, bright, spacious, and packed with everything from cowboy boots and western apparel to workwear, outdoor gear, and western-inspired fashion. And judging by the crowd of shoppers already exploring the store during Friday's celebration, Springfield was ready for it!

Founded in 1978, Boot Barn has grown to become the nation's largest western and workwear retailer. The Springfield location carries thousands of styles from brands including Wrangler, Ariat, Carhartt, and Cinch, and also offers complimentary hat shaping and boot stretching.

Congratulations to store manager, Jessica – a Thurston grad! And big thank yous to Springfield Mayor Sean VanGordon - Springfield, OR and City Councilors Michelle Webber, Steve Moe, and Jill Cuadros for joining us to help officially welcome Boot Barn to our community, along with our Chamber Ambassadors and everyone who came out for the celebration.

We had a great time celebrating the grand opening of Golftrk Eugene with an official ribbon cutting yesterday! ✂

GolfTRK is a year-round golf training facility combining PGA professional coaching with Tour-grade TrackMan technology, PuttView putting analysis, club fittings, and detailed performance data – all designed to help golfers understand their game and improve it.

Rain or shine, golfers now have a new place in Springfield to practice with purpose, sharpen their skills, and play a better game – conveniently located in the Shoppes at Gateway.

The PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital on Game Farm Road is having an Open House. 👏👏👏 Will we see you there?

Designed to help patients recover from debilitating injury or illness such as an accident or stroke, the 66,000 square foot hospital features 42 inpatient beds, the region's only traumatic brain injury unit, a large therapy gym and a mock apartment and car to relearn daily tasks.
