REPRESENTING BUSINESS. 👈

Last week, Springfield Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Vonnie Mikkelsen was invited by U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley to participate in a regional roundtable discussion on affordability and economic pressures facing Oregon businesses and families.

Representing Springfield's business community, Vonnie shared preliminary findings from the Chamber's 2026 Business Climate Survey, highlighting concerns we continue to hear from employers across industries: Affordability is not just a household issue. It is also a workforce issue and a small business sustainability issue, requiring solutions that address the interconnected challenges of housing, workforce availability, taxes, regulation, and the overall cost of doing business.

We appreciate, as always, the opportunity to bring the voice of local business to important discussions.
