At DWD, every itinerary is crafted with care, passion, and a personal touch! I’m a friendly, outgoing person who loves to laugh and cherishes every moment with my family and grandchildren—they’re truly the stars of my show! As a retired school librarian, my heart has always been for reading and pouring into the lives of others, especially kids. From middle grade novels and picture books to grippin

g murder mysteries by Freida McFadden and timeless tales by LM Montgomery, I could talk about books all day! Faith is at the center of my life—I’m a devoted disciple of Jesus and love spending time with my church family. When I’m not at home or with family, you’ll find me and my husband on an adventure! We’re on an ongoing quest to visit all 63 American National Parks (37 and counting), and we love traveling by camper with our two spoiled Yorkies in tow or hopping on a cruise to places like Athens, Rome, and Israel (which I can’t wait to see again!). Games and cards bring out our family’s competitive side—so fun, and the memories are priceless. Whether I’m curled up with a good book, exploring new destinations, or enjoying laughter-filled moments at home, I find joy in every part of the journey.

This is the REAL ALASKA! The Alaska where there are no roads and no modern conveniences. There is no way in except a float plane or a couple of flights and a water taxi! Katmai National Park is home to many, many Grizzlies! These bears stand in and around Brooks Falls each year catching and eating salmon that are headed upstream to spawn and die. The national park has built viewing platforms to make seeing these bears very safe. But the hike out to the falls is .6 miles each way and you are almost guaranteed to see a bear on the path!

Guess who knows how to get you there? Yep. This travel girl!

The largest non-polar tidewater glacier in the world? Hubbard Glacier in Yakutat Bay, AK. Over 6 miles wide at the face....

Where's the best place to meet on a Silversea ship? Here are a few places guests seem to find each other again and again.

Pool deck at sunset: the light turns gold, the sea breeze picks up, and someone always says, "One more before dinner.”

S.A.L.T. Bar: regional spirits, great bartenders, and conversations that start with, "Have you tried this one yet?”

Dolce Vita: the piano starts playing, glasses clink, and someone says, "Let's have the butler push dinner back.” Some meetings are planned. Others happen somewhere between a cocktail and the next story.

Greece has more ancient sites worth visiting than most trips allow time for. Sailing through opens up a better shot at seeing more than one corner of it.
