Some businesses give you a place to shop. Others give you a reason to stay awhile.
When Amy Brofford and Maureen Baker opened Aerie Lane on Historic Main Street in 2019, they found a place that felt like the perfect home for what they wanted to create—a business centered around community, creativity and connection.
Aerie Lane is part boutique, part creative space, and a whole lot more.
Visitors can shop unique finds and products from local makers, but they can also pull up a chair and make something of their own. DIY workshops, private craft parties, girls’ nights, date nights and team-building events have turned the shop into a place where people gather just as much as they shop.
And that’s exactly the point.
Over the years, some of Amy and Maureen’s favorite moments haven’t been about a particular product or event. They’ve been watching a first-time crafter realize, “I actually made that!” They’re the friendships formed around a craft table, celebrations shared inside the shop and the people who have returned again and again.
Those moments have become part of Aerie Lane’s story.
The shop also provides space for local makers and entrepreneurs, giving other small businesses an opportunity to have their products seen right here on Main Street.
For Amy and Maureen, being part of Main Street means being part of something bigger than their own business. It’s supporting neighboring shops, collaborating, cheering one another on and helping create a downtown where people want to spend their time.
Because to them, Main Street isn’t simply where Aerie Lane is located.
It’s home.
