On a work assignment, every extra fee is either coming out of your per diem or out of your own pocket.

You booked a place for your assignment. Then the platform added a service fee. And a cleaning fee. And a booking fee. On a stay that runs a month or more, those add-ons get big fast, and they're often the first thing finance questions when you submit your expenses.

When you book directly with us, here's what matters most, in order:

1. No booking platform service fees
Book through outpostak.com and there's no third-party service fee stacked on top. More of your housing budget goes to the place you're actually staying.

2. Clear pricing, upfront
You'll see your total before you commit. That makes it easier to plan around your allowance and simpler to explain on your expense report.

3. A real place to work
A proper desk, good lighting, and Wi-Fi you can count on. Not sure about the connection? Just ask, and we'll run a speed test at the home before you decide to book.

4. Real people, not a help center
Need to extend your stay because the project ran long? You talk directly with our team, not a ticket system, so changes get handled quickly.

5. Everything you need for life after work
A full kitchen so you're not living on takeout, a washer and dryer, and Anchorage locations close to groceries, coffee, and the highway. Most of our homes are just minutes from JBER, so your commute stays short.

One guest shared: "The location is perfect, with access to Starbucks, major grocery stores, etc. Secluded neighborhood, yet the highway is easily accessible in a few minutes' drive."

You need a home for 3 months. Every landlord wants you to sign for 12.

Maybe your house is being repaired. Maybe you're waiting on a closing date, a new build, or the next set of orders. Either way, you're stuck in the same frustrating spot: regular rentals want a year-long lease, furniture, utility setups, and deposits, all for a place you'll only need for a few months.

That's exactly the gap we fill. Here's how:

📅 Flexible stays from 1 month to as long as you need
No forced 12-month commitment, so you only pay for the time you actually need. That means no breaking a lease, no penalty fees, and no paying rent on an empty house after you've moved on.

🛋️ Fully furnished, down to the dishes
Beds, linens, cookware, and laundry are already set up, so you can arrive with just your suitcases. That means no renting furniture, no buying things you'll have to move twice, and dinner at home on night one.

🏡 A real home, not a hotel room
Separate bedrooms, a full kitchen, and living space for everyone, so your family can keep their routines. That means homework at the table, a quiet bedtime, and a little normal in the middle of a messy season.

🐾 Pet-friendly homes available
Your pets come with you, so nobody gets left behind. That means one less thing to arrange, and one more piece of home that stays with you.

📍 Anchorage locations, most just minutes from JBER
Close to groceries, coffee, and the highway, so everyday errands stay easy. That means less time driving and more time settling in.

We've hosted 20+ families through in-between seasons just like yours, and we'd love to help with yours.

Send us your target move in date, pets, head count and we will match you with the right property!

Your housing application is in. Now comes the question nobody can answer: how long is the wait?

If you're PCSing to Anchorage, here's something worth knowing early. On-post housing is assigned based on rank and number of dependents, so the wait looks different for every family. Some move in quickly. Others wait weeks or even months.

The hard part isn't the wait itself. It's not knowing where your family will live in the meantime.

A lot of families default to a hotel and hope it's short. But there's another option many PCS families don't hear about until they're already a month into hotel life: a fully furnished home that bridges the gap until your housing opens up.

Here's what that looks like with us:

🏡 A real home with separate bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer
📦 Fully furnished, so you can move in before your household goods arrive
🐾 Pet-friendly homes available
📍 Most of our properties are just minutes away from JBER

Instead of putting life on hold, your kids can settle into a routine, you can cook dinner at home, and everyone gets a little breathing room while the waitlist does its thing.

We've hosted 20+ families through moves just like yours. Here's what one of them shared:

"House felt like home with a fully stocked kitchen, laundry room needs, and cooking appliances. The location is perfect, with access to Starbucks, major grocery stores, etc. Secluded neighborhood, yet the highway is easily accessible in a few minutes' drive. Thank you again Nicole and Outpost Team!"

That suitcase in the corner? You stopped unpacking it weeks ago. 🧳

Maybe new orders have the whole family crammed into one room until housing works out.

Maybe you’re off a 12-hour shift at a hospital in U-Med, eating takeout off a hotel desk.

Or maybe you sold the house before the new one was ready, and half your life is in a storage unit across town.

It’s only temporary. But nobody tells you how long “temporary” can drag on.

The in-between doesn’t have to feel like camping.

Our furnished, move-in-ready homes in Anchorage, Eagle River and Palmer are built for stays of one month or longer.

Every night in that hotel costs you twice. Once on the bill, and again when your allowance runs out before the stay does.

You took the assignment, the relocation, or the temporary housing your insurance approved. The hotel seemed like the easy choice for a few nights.

Then a few nights turned into a few weeks.

Now the math isn't working. The nightly rate's climbed past your BAH, your per diem, or your insurance allowance, and the difference is coming out of your own pocket. Add takeout for every meal because there's no kitchen. Add laundry fees. Add parking. Add work calls taken from the edge of the bed because there's nowhere else to sit.

It doesn't stop, either. Each extra night costs more and gives you less.

There's a better way to stay in Anchorage for a month or longer. Our fully furnished homes come with:

🏡 A whole home at a monthly rate, not a nightly one
🍳 A full kitchen, so groceries replace takeout
💻 A real workspace with Wi-Fi you can count on
🧺 A washer and dryer, so you're done paying for laundry
📍 Locations close to groceries and the highway, with most just minutes from JBER

Check our available dates at outpostak.com and send us an inquiry before another night goes on the bill. https://f.mtr.cool/kdavmiweg4

Still in a hotel room with the kids, the dog, and a microwave you're starting to resent?

You've been doing everything right. Waiting on the house. The repairs. The insurance claim. The moving truck. But every day in that hotel room gets a little harder. The kids are bouncing off the walls, the dog's pacing by the door, and you can't remember the last time you cooked an actual dinner.

You don't have to keep waiting it out in one room.

Our fully furnished homes in Anchorage are set up so your whole family can move in and start living normally again:

🍳 A full kitchen, stocked with the pots, pans, and dishes you'll need
🛏️ Separate bedrooms, so everyone gets some space (and some sleep)
🐾 Pet-friendly homes available, so your four-legged family members can come too
🧺 A washer and dryer, so laundry stops being an outing
📅 Stays from one month to as long as you need

Most of our homes are just minutes from JBER, with groceries, parks, and trails close by.

Two queen beds. One mini fridge. Three kids. And no idea how long you'll be here.

Just got orders to Anchorage? Welcome! You're about to live somewhere beautiful. But first, there's usually a stretch nobody puts in the brochure.

Your household goods are somewhere between here and the Lower 48. Base housing has a waitlist. And your family's living out of suitcases in a hotel room, eating takeout for the fourth night in a row.

We hear this from military families all the time. The move's hard enough. It's the waiting, with no firm date, that wears everyone down.

Now picture this instead.

🍳 Dinner cooked in a real kitchen, at a real table.
🛏️ Kids asleep in their own rooms while you finally get a quiet hour.
🧺 A washer and dryer down the hall, not a coin machine down the lobby.
🛋️ A living room where everyone can spread out on a snowy Saturday.

Most of our homes are just minutes from JBER. Coffee shops, trails, and groceries are close by, so you can start getting to know Anchorage while the rest of your move catches up. Bringing a dog? We've got pet-friendly homes, too.

"Fast Wi-Fi" in the listing. One bar in the bedroom. Laptop balanced on the kitchen counter by day three.

Ever taken a work assignment and ended up joining video calls from your car because it had the best signal? This one's for you.

When you're staying somewhere for a few weeks or a few months, home and office become the same place. The little things stop being little. A wobbly chair turns into a sore back. A dropped connection turns into a missed meeting. And a couch isn't a desk, no matter how hard you try.

Here's what we look for when we set up a home for someone who's working while they stay:

💻 A real place to work. A proper desk and a chair you can actually sit in all day.
📶 Wi-Fi you can count on. Not sure? Just ask. We'll run a speed test at the home before you decide to book, so you know exactly what you're getting.
💡 Good lighting. For your eyes, and for those 8 a.m. calls.
🔌 Outlets where you need them. No more crawling behind the bed to charge your laptop.
🍳 A full kitchen. Lunch breaks are better when you're not living on takeout.

Our homes are in Anchorage, and most are just minutes from JBER. Groceries, coffee, and the highway are close by, so the drive after a long day stays short.

Your orders say report Monday. Your household goods say "sometime in November."

If your family's living in that gap right now, you're not doing anything wrong. You're just in the in-between. It's one of the hardest parts of any move.

Not knowing when you'll finally get settled wears on you. Base housing keeps saying "a few more weeks." The repair date slides again. Everyone feels it. Even the kids. Especially the kids.

Here's the good news. You can't control the moving truck, but you can control a lot of what happens while you wait.

A few things that make the in-between feel steadier:

🏠 Keep the small routines. Same bedtime, same Saturday pancakes. Kids anchor to rhythm, not rooms.
🧺 Unpack like you're staying. Even if it's only 60 days, put clothes in drawers and a family photo on the shelf.
🛏️ Give everyone their own spot. A bed that's theirs. A place for shoes. A corner for homework.
🍳 Cook at home when you can. A real kitchen does more for family morale than most people expect.

That last one's a big part of why we do this. Our furnished homes in Anchorage come with full kitchens, real beds, a washer and dryer, and Wi-Fi that actually works. Most are just minutes from JBER. Pets are welcome in some, too, so nobody gets left behind while the paperwork catches up.
