Elephant love at the legendary Chitake Springs in Mana Pools. ❤️

Over the two nights we spent at this wild campsite, we had large herds of elephant daily in the riverbed meters from our camp. We were surprised to find no water at the legendary "Chitake Springs", but soon realised that the springs are underground as the elephants would spend hours digging in the dry riverbed to drink and bath in the water.

What an incredible time we have been having so far on our overlanding adventure! The Central Kalahari was extraordinary; the sunsets and sunrises, the dramatic scenery, remote open wilderness, wildlife!

Signal has been few and far between, which has left us little chance to update you all on our travels, but we promise it will come!

We have been a little quiet around here lately, whilst we have been full time preparing for our overlanding adventure through Southern and South-Eastern Africa! And tomorrow is finally the departure day!!! 😍

There's a huge amount that goes in to preparing for a trip like this:
🐾All bookings have to be remade in the parks, and car passes organised.
🐾Route planning
🐾Equipping vehicles
🐾Medical planning (we will be out of signal range in remote areas for weeks at a time, so we need to be prepared for every situation, emergency and ailment!)
🐾Food supply planning and shopping
🐾Organising things at home to be left for so long (house sitters, work!)
🐾Organising all the other supplies needed to be off-grid for months on end; like the right clothes and camping & kitchen equipment!

It is safe to say it has been a bit stressful, but we know it is all going to be so worth it as we hit the road tomorrow for an adventure of a lifetime.

We will be sharing bits of our travels when we are in signal range here, but Adele also shares on her travel account if you would like to follow along there! 🧡

A sneak peak into some of the beautiful sightings from our last two weeks in Greater Kruger! It was a special stay, as always. We love the bird life in summer as many of the migratory birds return for the season. 🪶

Heavy rains came down causing flooding in a lot of the area, causing a delay in our return back to Cape Town due to accesses being flooded. The rain was much needed in the area and how could we complain to be able to spend a few more days in this magical place!
