One of the best things about travelling through Vietnam isn't what you see. It's what you take part in. 🇻🇳

Learning traditions that have been passed down for generations. Wandering markets where every street has its own rhythm. Sitting down with local families. Wearing traditional dress, even if only for an evening. Laughing when you realise you have absolutely no idea what you're doing... and loving every minute of it.

The easiest way to show respect and share a smile is to learn some language basics. Here are just three words that can help unlock a whole new world:

👋 Hi / Hello: Xin chào (pronounced "Seen chow")
🙏 Please: Làm ơn (pronounced "Lam ern")
💖 Thank you: Cảm ơn (pronounced "Gahm ern")

When saying thank you (Cảm ơn /"gahm ern"), a slight bow of the head shows an extra layer of politeness and appreciation
