Two days, two classics, and another unforgettable Cederberg hiking experience.

We spent the weekend guiding a beautiful guided hike in the Cederberg, taking in the iconic Maltese Cross and exploring the twists and turns of the Wolfberg Cracks, all from the tranquility of Driehoek Farm.

It’s always a privilege introducing new people to this part of the Western Cape, sharing the magic of hiking in South Africa. From the dramatic sandstone formations to the rich history, unique flora, and wildlife that make this landscape so special.

These are the kind of multi-day hiking tours that stay with you: good trails, good company, and a deep connection to the wild.

Another great initiative! Please donate if you can and help this village in the Cederberg thrive.

An Easter weekend in the Northern Cederberg.

An epic few days guiding an awesome crew through some stunning wild country.

I was fueled all the way by meals; breakfast, lunch and dinners. Their cook in the pack method made them easy and convenient to enjoy. No cold soaking, no cooking in a pot and wasting fuel. Just add boiling water, wait 15 minutes (for the meals) and tuck in.

We kicked things off with a night at Heuningvlei Backpackers, before heading deep into the mountains for a wild camp under the stars next to the river in Boontjieskloof. Night two was something special. Camping beneath the branches of cedar trees… with the quiet thrill of a leopard passing by camp during the night 🐆✨

To top it all off, we pushed high onto the slopes of Krakadouw, soaking in those big mountain views and that feeling of being properly out there.

This is what the Cederberg does best, raw, remote, and unforgettable.

A private guided hike up India Venster is so much more than just “follow the leader” ⛰️✨

It’s an experience; combining adventure, local knowledge, safety, coaching on the more technical sections, and yes… sometimes even a mini photoshoot along the way 📸

This route is one of the most exciting and accessible ways up Table Mountain, and with the right guidance, it becomes something truly memorable.

Huge thanks to for taking such great care of our clients and capturing these incredible moments.

Some people pass through the mountains. Others become part of them.

I had the privilege of sharing a five-day trail in the Cederberg last year with the amazing soul that was Justine. After that journey she wrote:

“I return with dust on my boots and wonder in my veins.
It’s a conversation with the wild and the silence hums like an ancient song.
Every step is more than a hike, it’s a conversation with the wind.
It doesn’t just test your body, it carves the memory into your soul.
Unforgettable.”

Rest in peace Justine.

Every step out there will forever carry a little memory of you.

What a weekend in the Cederberg!

Over 100 volunteers came together for the Cederberg Volunteer Weekend, hosted by and - the energy was unreal.

From trail audits and trail rebuilding, to maintenance work and clearing rubbish, it was hands-on, meaningful work in a place we all care deeply about.

Sunrise, sunset, or anywhere in between, Lion’s Head never disappoints.

There is a reason its become one of the ‘must-do’ things to visit when in Cape Town. Lion’s Head offers 360° views over the city, Table Mountain, and the Atlantic Ocean, all in a short but rewarding climb.

The trail follows a spiral path to the summit, with chains and ladders adding a fun, adventurous edge along the way.

Guided hikes mean safer route choices, perfect timing for golden light, and local knowledge that brings the mountain to life: from geology and history to the best photo spots and hidden details most people miss.

Add a picnic, good company, and that unbeatable summit vibe, and you’ve got a classic Cape Town experience done right.

Whether it’s your first time up or your tenth, Lion’s Head always delivers.

If you’re keen to add this experience to your holiday, get in touch.
