This was my second trip to South Africa, the first was 25 years ago. I wanted to come on this trip to introduce my wife to the country I fell in love with after reading so many novels in my youth.
From the moment we arrived until our farewell in Cape Town, every aspect of the trip was exceptionally well organised. South Africa is an incredibly diverse and beautiful country, and this itinerary showcased its spectacular landscapes, fascinating wildlife, rich history and warm hospitality.
A very special thank you goes to our outstanding guide and driver Brenda. Brenda is a strong, passionate, and very proud South African and to have her as our guide was a blessing. She taught us so much about many aspects of what makes South Africa such a great country. Her local knowledge, stories and enthusiasm added so much to every destination, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The wildlife experiences were simply incredible. We chose the optional Kruger National Park Full-Day Open Vehicle Game Safari and the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park Morning Open Vehicle Safari, and both were absolute highlights of the tour.
Seeing so many animals in their natural habitat, including four of the Big Five, was an experience we will never forget. Every game drive offered something different, and the guides’ expertise helped us appreciate the behaviour of the animals and the beauty of the parks.
We were also delighted that we decided to participate in most of the optional excursions, as they added so much to our holiday. The accommodation throughout the journey was comfortable, the meals were consistently enjoyable, and travelling through destinations such as the Panorama Route, St Lucia, the Drakensberg, and the Garden Route was fulfilling.
We returned home with wonderful memories, thousands of photographs and a desire to visit again. We would highly recommend the South African Surprise tour to anyone wanting a comprehensive introduction to this remarkable country.” - Yul-ian_seetheworld
