In northeastern Namibia, along the Caprivi Strip (now the Zambezi Region), the Chobe River offers a quieter and more relaxed way to experience this famous wildlife area. Flowing along the border between Namibia and Botswana, the river creates wide floodplains and channels that attract animals throughout the day.

From the Namibian side, you look directly across to Chobe National Park, often spotting elephants, buffalo, and antelope gathering at the water’s edge. Hippos and crocodiles are regularly seen in the river, while birdlife is especially rich, making it a popular spot for birdwatching.
