🚨 South Africa now requires an online Travel Declaration for most travellers entering or leaving the country, effective 1 July 2026. Here's what you need to know before your next trip with us:

✅ When to submit: Within 24 hours before departure. Travelling with a stopover? Submit within 24 hours before your final flight into South Africa.

✅ What you'll need: Your passport, travel details, contact information, details of anyone travelling with you, and any goods or currency you're declaring.

✅ How to submit: Through the SATMS system on the SARS website, or the SATMS mobile app.

✅ Your duty-free allowance: Up to R5,000 is duty and VAT free. R5,000–R25,000 may be subject to duty and VAT. Above R25,000, normal customs duties and VAT apply.

✅ Travelling for business: Corporate travellers must also declare commercial goods, and additional Customs requirements may apply, check with your consultant beforehand.

✅ After you submit: Save your confirmation on your phone or printed. Customs may ask to see it.

⚠️ Skipping the declaration, or submitting false information, can mean penalties, delays at the border, or your goods being seized.
