Lara Travel was started in November 1996 by the proprietor, Lara Criticos, with the goal of establishing an International Air Transport Association (IATA) accredited retail travel agency and to delivering superior service to clients. Team
Starting initially as a "one-woman-business", the staff compliment has increased progressively and now includes a Managing Director, Key Accounts Manager, experienced Travel Consultants, a Courier, a General Office Assistant, Receptionist and an Accounts Manager. ASATA
Lara Travel became a registered member of the Association of South Africa Travel Agents (ASATA) in January 2001. Beginning 2002, Lara reviewed her business goals and strategies and working closely with a Business Consultant re-structured and re-focused her business. Effective 01 March 2002, Lara Travel has been converted to a (Pty) Ltd. corporation and Lara has taken on a new Shareholder, Donna Hitchcock. Donna has many years experience as a Travel Consultant and will be concentrating on building closer relationships with Lara Travel clients, understanding their travel needs and providing personalised customer service.
