Today was the first of our Scenic Back Country Tours, a laid back easy day driving the dirt roads out in the hinterland.

Thank you to all who came out, I had a blast hosting you all and putting on the BBQ lunch.

Looking forward to seeing you again on another 😁

Now, all sights are set on the final touches for Cape York and then North we go!

Now that the clean up is finished ..mostly.. I figured I should get some of these awesome photos up.

Saturday was the last Back to Bush before we start to shift focus onto the BBQ drive day and Cape York!

Saturday really turned it on with a beautiful clear day allowing us a great view up and over Moreton Bay, with the deeper we went into the park, it was evident not much of the water had dried up, so mud was encountered and provided some un-intended but fun obstacles. As with most muddy encounters - 'a moment on the diffs, for a lifetime of the S**ts'.. as you are forever finding mud in random hidden spots, usually physically.. with your eyeballs.

Along the trails we spotted a very beautiful Carpet Python sunning itself, barely phased by us, plus we changed it up and planted ourselves on the creek for our morning tea in one of the best spots to date.

Finishing off the day we said our farewells at the Gantry, with Josh and myself heading to the waterhole before driving out the north end of the National Park to head home.

Yesterday was another brilliant day out in the wilderness. Making our way up the hillside, we were greeted by the mountain mist. Still lingering from a cool morning.

Due to the Falls being closed, we re-routed and decided to undertake the Strangler Cairn and Goldmine hike instead. The 6.5km return hike, through amazing rainforest, over a grade 3 trail was just bliss. It had been a few years since I had checked it out last so, why not. What a fascinating structure.

And with our Stradbroke Island Getaway over, we're back on the mainland!

Night 1 we battled the weather, the rain dropping downpours on and off, the gusts arriving out of nowhere forcing some to take to their shelters, not for shelter however but to hold them down from being snatched by the fury of mother nature.

With most structures intact, clothing drenched our spirits remained unbroken, pulling through with smiles and still cracking jokes.

As the days went on, the weather calmed and we were able to see and enjoy the natural beauty of the island. Even managed to catch a few Pipi's, locally known as Yugari, for a cook and taste later that night.

All in all, it was an excellent trip with all thanks going to the awesome bunch of people we had. So checkout a couple of the nice shots I managed to capture this trip.

A few snaps from the weekend gone. Heading off scouting some new tracks for future events, and recording track data for Hema Maps. Plenty of wildlife, and amazing dense forests to be seen 👌 some dead ends but an enjoyable weekend nonetheless. Now to get all the dust out of the car and give it a good clean.

Let me know what type of adventures best suit you,

Do you prefer:

Easy drives focused on scenery and tranquilly of the bush

Easy/medium level trails that focus on the drive but offer a mix of easy going and rough sections

Or difficult/endurance (multi day) trails to test your vehicles capabilities.
