We’re still thinking about this incredible moment from last week at Frankland Islands…

Despite a rainy start to the week, a visiting humpback whale mother and calf gave guests a front row seat to one of nature’s most beautiful displays, breaching, surfacing and travelling together just metres from the island’s main beach. Photos taken by Anna Favero.

Rain or shine, it's never a bad day on the reef. 🐳This week, guests at Frankland Islands were treated to a truly magical wildlife encounter, with a humpback whale mother and calf breaching just metres from the main beach.

July and August mark one of the most exciting times of year on the Great Barrier Reef, as humpback whales migrate north to breed and nurture their calves.
