How does an instrument of war become a thing of beauty?

There is no doubt that, as you enter Conwy Castle, it is breathtaking.

Built by Edward I as a formidable fortress to impose his often brutal rule on Wales, today its towers, walls and views can tell a very different story — one of history, architecture and aesthetic beauty.

I can vouch for this being an absolutely beautiful sweet course and I reckon the story about the original Guiness recipe being stolen from these parts is box office stuff!
