Very kind of Friday’s team to share some pictures from the Carneddau leg of the Welsh 3000s hike with . Bear in mind they had already completed 9 x 3000ft summits by this point! Also awesome that they raised over £5k for the Alzheimer’s Society in the process. What a team!

A super busy few days starting with an epic late night traverse of the Carneddau range, as part of a Welsh 3000s challenge for . By the time I picked up the group from they had already submitted Crib Goch, yr Wyddfa, and 5 peaks in the Glyderau. So just another 13 miles and 4600ft of ascent to go!

A lovely group of 8 clients, raising funds for Alzheimer’s research made great progress on the steep ascent of Pen yr Ole Wen before hitting some clag and gusting winds on the push up to Carnedd Dafydd. Mist and darkness made navigating between Carnedd Llewelyn and Yr Elen challenging before onward progress to Foel Grach and elemental side winds on Foel Fras. A tremendous achievement for a group who were on their feet for upwards of 25 hours.

Saturday and Sunday brought a return to the footpaths and lanes of Orrell and district with a lovely group of students with . All good fun!

Looking forward to another busy week culminating in an upland history walk for https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/penmaenmawr-upland-guided-history-walk-tickets-1991160221824

Another fun day on the hill with leading a lovely school group for . Unfortunately, very strong winds and sideways rain meant no summit this time but the young people made excellent progress and can be very proud of their efforts.
Lovely to hear their positive comments about their experience - the first time on a mountain for most of them. Couldn’t help dropping in the odd snippet about the quarry hospital and soft rush candles.

Could the past hold the key to understanding the present? 🤔

At our History Camp, young people aged 16–18 will explore some of the UK’s most fascinating locations. From castles and ancient settlements to industrial heritage sites, uncover the stories that shaped them.

You’ll piece together history through real-world experiences, develop new skills, and meet like-minded people along the way. No prior experience needed, just curiosity and enthusiasm!

We have two new exciting locations for this year’s camps too! FSC Rhyd-y-creuau in North Wales and FSC Nettlecombe Court in Somerset.
