Thanks to my colleague John for hosting a Derrie Danders tour for Visit Derry and TourismNI as I was unavailable due to other work commitments. The guests had family connections to the Cuomo and Kennedys from American politics and were visiting the city for the Halloween festival.

A short notice tour booking of the City Walls on a fine autumn morning for a group of friends visiting the City from across the border in Sligo,Dublin and Galway.

Today’s visitors on their customised private tour of the City Walls were a family group from the state of Tennessee and Washington DC who had traced their ancestry back to the famous Governor Walker from the 1688/89 siege. After meeting them at the train station we walked part of the Walls focussing on the Siege and the role of Governor Walker. Thanks to the volunteers of St Columb's Cathedral who opened up specially for their visit and displayed many of the artifacts from George Walker they have in their custody. I learned some fresh historical information today myself.
They intended to spend the afternoon visiting other relevant locations in the city centre.

This afternoon’s private tour guests were visiting from Chicago in the US.

This morning’s private group were from different states of the US, and given the thunder and lightning in the area, we adapted the tour to include a wider drive around in their bus and a short walk on the Walls.

Today’s guests were a mother and daughter from Indianapolis in the US, and they had to cope with the wind and rain on their private City Walls tour this afternoon.
