We were supposed to be returning from our 5-day RHINE in FLAMES cruise today, but sadly it was cancelled.
Hopefully everyone busied themselves or took a 'last-minute' bbreak somewhere, as all refunds were returned by Success Tours on Friday afternoon - we were very impressed. Thank you Success Tours - your customer service is the best!

We're now looking forward to this Sunday and dressing up to the 9s in true Parisien fashion for LE CHAT NOIR - an immersive dinner theatre set in the famous Paris nightclub!

Sadly, we should have been relaxing in the Club Aspire lounge at London Heathrow early this morning ... for our 5-day RHINE IN FLAMES cruise with Success Tours & Croisi Europe!
Unfortunately, the firework and annual festival was cancelled on Monday due health & safety reasons having had such dry weather, high temperatures and extremely low water levels. C'est la vie ... but very disappointing for us all! A big thank you to everyone for your understanding & patience.

Everyone booked on our cruise will automatically receive a full refund very shortly.

We started with a rainbow but our day continued with the rain!

Despite the weather, yesterday's MYSTERY TOUR was a great success. An early start found us heading up the M3 & A34 to our first stop for coffee - the family-owned Yew Tree Garden Centre near Newbury. A great place for some retail therapy and delicious, homemade refreshments ..... and lunch if you have time,

Heading further to the north, our delicious 2-course lunch was at the SAXON MILL WARWICK, a beautiful, historic former watermill right on the River Avon at Guys Cliffe. Great food and a great atmosphere located on the River Avon.

Lunch was followed at mid-day by our fantastic and final Mystery just 15-minutes down the road form the Saxon Mill........ at The GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND BREEDING CENTRE at Royal Leamington Spa!
Wow, what a surprise that was for everyone, as although I'd organised a Solent Events tour way back in March 2017, no one in the current group had visited the centre before, so it was a really wonderful surprise for everyone .... and we were out of the rain in the dry once again!

The volunteer tour guides and their dogs were excellent at showing us around the Centre and seeing where the puppies start their journey, eventually to be trained and matched with a sight-impaired person. Everyone was so impressed with how they change so many people lives in the UK, that donations were generously given over tea and coffee at the end of our tour. A big thank you to everyone for their generosity!

Our day ended as it started ...... relaxation & refreshments on the coach ..... a light breakfast of pastries, juice and biscuits northbound; sandwiches, savouries & Bucks Fizz for tea, southbound.

35 very satisfied clients. 1 Quiz prize winner and 2 special cuddly 'puppy dog' prize winners in an 'on-the-spot' free raffle - purely because no one guessed the 'Where we were Going' quiz!!

We're off to France for The Rhine in Flames River Cruise next week, but watch this space for our next Mystery Tour!

Sadly, we're back …. but with some wonderful memories of Idyllic Italy in one of the most beautiful areas - Secluded Tuscany!
It was exactly 15-years ago that Solent Events enjoyed 8 glorious days in the elegant Tuscan Spa town of Montecatini Terme (between Lucca & Pistoia) and so it was lovely returning with MAGARI TOURS (an independent travellers brand of our favourite tour operator, Success Tours).

We experienced spectacular scenery; delicious, healthy food, local wines & homegrown olive oil. There was pasta to die for in local osterias and trattorias, hidden up secluded alleys, or with panoramic views. We wandered pretty medieval hilltop towns & villages, dined on cheese and tasted wine at family vineyards and discovered layers of Etruscan labyrinths of tunnels and water systems. Idyllic.
