After two unforgettable weeks exploring Elba, we have so many stories to tell. Rather than trying to fit them into a single post, we’ll be sharing our favourite discoveries over the coming weeks—from remarkable wineries and unforgettable meals to hidden beaches and timeless villages.

Elba is unlike any other Italian island. Still largely undiscovered by international travellers, it remains a cherished summer escape for Italians, who return year after year to enjoy its crystal-clear waters, secluded coves, golden and pebble beaches, spectacular hiking trails and wonderfully simple way of life.

Once known as the island of Napoleon’s exile, Elba has quietly become one of Italy’s most authentic destinations. There are no ostentatious beach clubs or overpriced restaurants here. Instead, you’ll find genuine Italian hospitality, exceptional seafood, elegant family-run restaurants, and some of the best value dining we’ve experienced anywhere in Italy.

What surprised us most was just how much the island has to offer. We visited more than 12 beaches and every single one was pristine. Boat hire is affordable, the coastline is breathtaking, and the island’s own wines deserve far more recognition than they receive.
