“High Oaks Grange is set in the most wonderful of settings, and the lodges are top class. You have everything you need—from a BBQ to an ironing board! The beds and bedding were spotless and so comfy. Any issues are dealt with promptly (not that we had any!). The lodges are just a 30-minute walk into Pickering and Thornton le Dale. Best lodges I have ever stayed in. We’ll definitely be returning shortly.”

👻🚂 Ghostly Goings On at NYMR 👻🚂

It may be August, but this October event will be here before we know it.

With tickets going fast, we wanted to share with you this ghostly train event at NYMR.

If Ghosts & Gin are your thing, then this is the event for you!

October will be here before we know it and this year as well as enjoying The Bloody Tour of York walking tour, you can join Mad Alice and a few friends on Mad Alice’s Ghost Train.

That’s right, Mad Alice has teamed up with North Yorkshire Moors Railway to bring you an experience like no other. Board your ghost train at Pickering station and head to Levisham on a return journey filled with spooky tales you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Tickets have been disappearing quick with the first train almost full. So don’t miss your chance.

Dates: 19th October, 26th October and 2nd November

Times: 6:15pm or 8pm

Don't forget to look up tonight for what is set to be an epic meteor shower 💫

We are lucky to be within the dark sky reserve and with Dalby Forest just a hop skip & a jump away, it's the perfect place for what is sure to be a celestial delight ✨️

Tonight’s the night! ✨

The Perseids meteor shower is at its peak, with up to 100 shooting stars an hour streaking across the summer sky. One of the most dazzling celestial shows of the year, it’s the perfect excuse to wrap up, stay up late, and look up, especially in an International Dark Sky Reserve like the North York Moors.

Some top spots to settle in include:
🌌 Sutton Bank National Park Centre
🌠 Danby Lodge National Park Centre
🌙 Rosedale Chimney Bank
🌳 Dalby Forest

Top tip, give your eyes 20 minutes to adjust, bring a blanket or reclining chair, and don’t forget the warm drink!
