✨ ONE YEAR AGO TODAY ✨
It’s strange looking back at this photo now.
At the time, I was excited… but also nervous, uncertain, and wondering whether I could really build something of my own.
One year ago today I started my travel business in association with Hays Travel 💙✈️
I had no idea then how much I was about to learn… not just about travel, but about confidence, resilience, people, business, and myself too.
This past year has brought so many highs:
✨ incredible opportunities
✨ lovely customers
✨ repeat bookings
✨ kind reviews
✨ new friendships
✨ cruise visits
✨ exciting destinations
✨ and moments where I’ve genuinely stopped and thought… “wow, this is actually happening.”
But behind the scenes, there have also been long evenings, learning curves, supplier calls, moments of self doubt, and times where I questioned whether I was good enough or knew enough.
And I think that’s the reality of building something for yourself.
What I’ve learned most is that people are not just looking for a holiday.
They’re looking for someone who listens.
Someone who helps things feel less overwhelming.
Someone who saves them time.
Someone who genuinely cares whether their trip feels right for them.
What I’ve also realised this year is just how stretched people are.
We live in a time where many of us already seek support in day to day life because time feels so limited. We have our shopping delivered, employ cleaners, use click and collect, book mobile car valeting, and look for ways to make life feel a little less overwhelming.
And I think travel now fits into that too.
Because planning a holiday is not always relaxing anymore.
It can mean hours comparing websites, reading endless reviews, understanding luggage rules, researching destinations, sorting transfers, airport parking, insurance, and trying to work out whether you’re actually making the right choice.
We also live so much of life through screens now.
Many people spend all day at desks, on laptops, in meetings, answering notifications, checking emails, and constantly making decisions.
So when it comes to travel, sometimes the last thing people want after a long day is another four hours online trying to piece together the “perfect” trip.
I think there’s something really valuable now in being able to hand some of that over to somebody you trust.
Not because people can’t do it themselves… but because time, headspace, and mental energy have become incredibly valuable.
Sometimes people simply want somebody to say:
“I’ve got this.”
And that’s the part of this job I love most 😊
Helping families reconnect.
Helping couples finally book the trip they keep putting off.
Helping solo travellers build confidence.
Helping busy people actually relax before they even leave home.
Whether it’s a cruise, family holiday, business trip, solo adventure, wellness escape, or even just helping organise a special day out… I genuinely love helping people make the most of their time away.
Because travel is never just about the destination.
It’s about how you feel while you’re there… and sometimes even who you become because of it.
So thank you to every single person who has supported me this past year.
Every enquiry.
Every booking.
Every recommendation.
Every comment, share, and message.
When you run your own business, those things genuinely mean more than people probably realise 💙
And to the version of me in this photo…
I’m really glad you took the leap.
Here’s to year two ✨🌍
