Not sure whether to laugh or cry but new record set for queue time for an airline!

Delighted some clients are still going to be able to visit some absolutely incredible places albeit a couple days later than planned.

For those of you I have spoken to who had holidays automatically cancelled we will regroup and rebook!

Travel is certainly an adventure! What I do know is its always worth it in the end!

Now for a bath and bed!

Some good news the air traffic control system is fixed however some disruption will continue as planes and crew are not where they should be.

We advise contacting your airline prior to departing for the airport.

If your airline, operator or travel agent offers a hotel room today it would be worth accepting, I have listened to a chap on the radio say he was offered a 2* hotel so decided against it 🙄.

We were able to offer all clients a named 3 or 4* hotel last night and the transport option to get them there but I would absolutely have offered a 2* if necessary. There are so many people displaced its worth taking a room if you can.

We hope as the day goes on to see some normality return.

Again thanks to all our clients who have worked with us through the night as we looked at solutions for onward travel 😍.

Update regarding air traffic control failure.

For those of you who have taken up the hotel options due to cancelled flights please ensure you charge your phones so we can get in contact with you as soon as new flights have been booked. If you could keep your volume up that would be helpful too!

Also please retain receipts for expenses incurred for example for train tickets to reach your hotels.

We really appreciate everyone's patience in this situation and thank you all for keeping in touch with us.

Well that went fast!

We are home! Yesterday we managed a big drop of documents but today is the first proper day back in the office, it has consisted of basically being onhold to airlines.

This week is manic which I love! Our focus will be on securing flights for those longhaul 2027 summer school holiday trips, mainly the USA and Canada as flights are finally becoming bookable for those key dates.

We anticipate those waiting should have final quotes by the weekend if the airlines play ball!

I am pulling together some key periods and destinations where we are already struggling with availability to help you plan what trips you need to start thinking about!

As we say goodbye to the summer holidays we move straight into a very busy time for USA and Canada trips for our clients.

Most of these are complex multi centres involving lots of modes of transport.

For the last week we have been fielding lots of very last minute changes to train schedules especially with our USA bookings. You should all have new vouchers if your train bookings are affected, we will have also communicated directly with you.

Its really important you note the new times as in the vast majority of cases there is only one departure a day especially on those longer haul train journeys!

Most departures are at the crack of dawn now so alarms are necessary! They were early before but many are earlier again! Wherever possible we will have booked you into first class private rooms on these trains so once onboard you can sit back and relax and catch up on sleep!

Please work with us to ensure you smoothly reach the next amazing place on your trip.

It never gets old! Hired a great Captain and crew member for a speedboat adventure.

A very curious pod of dolphins joined us and we enjoyed a great swim as they casually weaved below us 😍. They stayed for a good while before swimming off into the depths!

Let's talk weather! If you follow us you know we love Mauritius almost any time of year!

There are two seasons and August falls in the cooler drier winter. Don't be fooled by the winter part!

Its been around 24 to 27 degrees every day, we have had some cloud and very little rain over the last 12 days. We have been finding Europe especially our favourites Greece and Cyprus in the UK summer holidays a little warm so the Mauritius climate is pretty perfect!

The sea has been 25 degrees and glorious!

We are sat with a mai tai watching a pretty impressive dramatic sky right now!
