🇭🇷🇸🇮🇧🇦🏍️ Bon Voyage: Balkans Explorer and the Dalmatian Coast.

A few days ago, another Magellan group set off on an epic 21-day journey through Central Europe and into the Balkans. 🌍

Tour Guide Iain has already been sharing updates from the road, with the group coming together for their welcome meal before setting off across the Channel.

Their first days have already taken them through France’s Champagne region, with a lunch stop in Péronne, before crossing the Rhine into Germany and arriving in Baden-Baden. 🇫🇷🇩🇪

Next up is Germany’s legendary B500 through the Black Forest before continuing towards Füssen and the Austrian Alps. 🏔️🏍️

There’s a huge amount still ahead, including the Grossglockner, Ljubljana, Plitvice Lakes, Sarajevo, Mostar, Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Coast.

🇮🇪🏍️ Tales From The Road: Ireland | The Emerald Isle.

Our Emerald Isle riders have been making their way along Ireland’s spectacular west coast, and Tour Guide Richard has been sharing the latest from the road. 🇮🇪🌊

Leaving Derry behind, the group travelled towards Galway via a seafront stay in Enniscrone, with stops in Donegal and Sligo along the way.

From there, the route took them to Blacksod Lighthouse before joining the Wild Atlantic Way, with a very well-received lunch at Nevin’s Irish Pub and a visit to beautiful Kylemore Abbey before reaching Galway. 🏰

Next came one of Ireland’s most famous natural landmarks, the Cliffs of Moher, before crossing the Shannon by ferry and continuing through Limerick and Tralee. ⛴️

The riders then headed west through Di**le to Dunmore Head, before finishing this part of the journey with a ride into Killarney. 🏍️🌊

Great roads, dramatic coastline, historic landmarks and plenty of Irish hospitality along the way. 🙌🇮🇪

🇩🇪🏍️ Tales From The Road: Germany Grand Tour | Days 1–4.

The Germany Grand Tour is underway, with a mix of new faces and returning Magellan riders back for another adventure with us. Great to have you back! 🙌

The group came together in Brilon, Germany, where a lovely family-run hotel and three-course dinner provided a very welcome start to the tour. 🍽️

From there, it was on to the Harz Mountains, an area hugely popular with motorcyclists from Germany and beyond.

The group spent the following days enjoying the Harz’s quiet, varied roads, passing through pretty towns and villages before an interesting stop at the flight museum in Wernigerode. 🏍️⛰️

Despite some wet roads, they largely managed to dodge the showers too!

As Tour Guide Steve put it, the Harz has been “a wonderful introduction to the kind of roads we're looking forward to riding on for the rest of the tour.”

🇮🇪 Bon Voyage to everyone on our Best of the Emerald Isle tour! ☘️🏍️

The adventure is already underway, with the group collecting their motorcycles before heading through the Cotswolds and north into the Peak District on Day 1.

⛰️ Day 2 brought Winnats Pass, the Horseshoe Pass and the roads of North Wales before reaching Holyhead and boarding the ferry across the Irish Sea.

After a calm crossing, they touched down in Dublin and made their way north to Balbriggan for a well-earned dinner. ⛴️

Ireland is just getting started. 🌿

Spectacular coastal roads, rolling countryside, historic castles and plenty of Irish hospitality await over the coming days.

🇨🇦🏍️ Tales From The Road: Canada | Days 10–12

Another update from Canada, the trip that keeps delivering. 🇨🇦🏔️

From standing on a glacier to some of the best riding of the adventure so far, it’s been another memorable few days.

Day 10 saw most of the group swap two wheels for something rather bigger at the Columbia Icefield, Canada. A huge six-wheel vehicle carried them out onto the glacier, with time to explore, take plenty of photos and appreciate the scale of it all. 🧊📸

Then came the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, around 1,000 feet above the valley floor with a glass walkway beneath their feet. Not everyone’s cup of tea perhaps, but certainly an experience to remember! 😅

Over the following two days, the guides adapted the planned route to suit local conditions, keeping the adventure moving and opening up some fantastic alternative roads along the way. 🗺️🏍️

That flexibility is all part of a Magellan Guided tour. With experienced guides and support throughout, plans can be adapted when needed, so the group can keep enjoying the adventure. 🙌

By Day 12, temperatures had climbed to 32°C and the group was enjoying what Tour Guide Mark described as “one of the best rides yet”: twisty roads, fantastic scenery, great surfaces and views stretching out around them. ☀️⛰️

There was even time to discover a great little coffee shop tucked away in Vernon, Canada. ☕

🇷🇴🏍️ Welcome Home: Transylvanian Adventure

After around 4,000 miles, nine countries and 23 days on the road, our Transylvanian adventurers are home! 🌍

Led by Tour Guide Sarah, the group travelled from the Netherlands and Germany, through Austria and Hungary and into Romania, before making their way home via Poland and Czechia.

Along the way came the Black Forest, Alpine landscapes, medieval cities and some of Romania's legendary roads, including the Transalpina and Transfăgărășan Highway. 🏔️🛣️

There were long days, extreme heat and the inevitable challenges that come with a journey of this scale, but most importantly, as Sarah puts it:

“We all made it, and we had a fantastic time doing it. It was a corker!” 🙌

A huge thank you to Sarah and everyone who joined us and made this such a memorable adventure.

🇨🇦🏍️ Tales From The Road: Canada | Days 5–8

Four more days on the road and Canada is certainly delivering. 🇨🇦

Days 5 and 6 took the group from Whitehorse, Canada, through Watson Lake and Stewart, with big open roads, forests, mountains and lakes providing the backdrop. There were even a few bears spotted beside the road! 🐻🏔️

Along the way came some wonderfully quirky stops, including Jade City, Canada, and local cafés serving homemade cakes and coffee. ☕🍰

Day 7 brought glorious weather and what Nick described as “picture-book” scenery on the run towards Smithers, Canada, with huge mountains, forests, lakes and rivers stretching out around the group. 🌲☀️

Then came Day 8 and, according to Mark, the best cup of coffee of the trip so far at Boer Mountain Coffee House in Burns Lake, Canada. There were even pizza cupcakes! ☕🍕

After some fantastic sweeping roads, the group stopped at Fort St. James, Canada, for a fascinating look into the history of the region and its fur trade, before taking the dusty gravel roads into Prince George, Canada for the evening.

Next up is Sunwapta Falls, Canada, for two nights and a day off. The choices? Put the feet up, visit a glacier or head out for another ride. 🏍️🧊

When you're travelling through different countries, you'll often need your passport, driving licence and travel documents at short notice.

Rather than packing them at the bottom of your luggage, keep them somewhere that's easy to access.
