Over the past couple of months, we’ve been busy collecting hundreds of photos and stories from the incredible office team and tour guides behind Magellan – and now we’re ready to share them with you!

Have you ever been curious about which trip sparked the idea for Felix Billington to start the company? What Billy Byfield did before he began his 8-year (and counting) stint as a Magellan guide? Or which trip is Tim Stevenson’s absolute favourite?

There’s only one place to find out – and it’s linked in the comments below!

With the touring season in full swing, many of our customers have sent us lovely words to share! Want to know what it’s like touring with us? Here’s your answer.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Both of our tour guides were excellent. They went out of their way to look after us all and were great fun to ride and socialise with. – Steve

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our guides were fantastic, very supportive but not intrusive. Accommodation was excellent throughout, and the daily rides were the right sort of length. I would happily go on further Magellan tours in the future. – Michael

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guides did an excellent job of being the ideal tour support team: fun, friendly, and welcoming. I really appreciated the mix of being left to your own devices, while knowing there was a competent and knowledgeable support team there when needed. This has given me a real taste for further adventure, and I would highly recommend Magellan. – Ashley

Episode four of Ewan and Charley’s latest adventure airs today – and we’ve got something special to mark the occasion.

Over the years, our tours have criss-crossed their Long Way routes more times than we can count – from the untamed wilderness of Alaska and Canada to the windswept edges of Chile and Argentina, and more recently, through the majestic fjordlands of Scandinavia.

To celebrate, we’re launching a brand-new destinations page on our website. There, you can follow in their tyre tracks and join us in exploring many of the iconic locations and unforgettable moments featured in the series. And between us… they may have missed a few hidden gems we’ll be sure to show you.

You’ll find the link in the comments. Or give us a call – we’d love to chat about where the road might take you next.

Scandinavia seems to be having a moment, doesn’t it? The Long Way boys are currently making their way through Norway for Apple TV, and Simon Reeve has been exploring the region for the BBC as well.

We’ve been venturing there on two wheels for nearly a decade, uncovering hidden corners, local gems, and cultural treasures. From the windmills of the Netherlands and the tranquil forests of Sweden to the Arctic Circle and the fjord-carved coastlines of Norway, we know this region like the back of our hand.

Due to overwhelming demand, we’ve added a few extra spaces to this year’s trip. They won’t last long – so if the call of the fjords is growing louder, follow the link in the comments to join the adventure.

We’ve been steadily making our way south through France, drawn by the promise of island life. Now, a group of eager Magellanites is touching down on the sun-warmed shores of Sardinia. Billy, as ever, is doing a phenomenal job capturing the journey – his updates on the riders’ group offer a vivid window into the adventure.

The following photos from their route might just stir a little envy. Head over to the riders’ page to follow their progress.

For the Bond fanatics, the alpine dreamers, and the seekers of glamour and grandeur – our Guided Italy: Dolomites, Lakes and Alps tour is one of Europe’s finest rides. A perennial favourite, and with good reason.

Whether you’re riding from the UK on your own bike, or starting from Paris on a rental, this journey winds through whispering forests and over ancient trade routes. You'll seek out cool shade beside the Great Italian Lakes and climb into the high drama of the Austrian and Swiss Alps.

The 8th of July is the date to save in the calendar if you’d like to join – and with scenes like this to see, why wouldn’t you!

The team headed out to at for a look around the 1000s of bikes for sale there. Felicity and Nate don’t currently ride (but we forgive them). After today, they’re working on their garage wishlists!

Look out for their motorcycling taster lesson booked for later this month. Next stop, a bike tour near you!

P.S. we forgive the for the visit to on expenses too 😂

In 2004, Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman fired up their engines for the inaugural Long Way. And with that first turn of the throttle, they set more than just their wheels in motion. Overnight, the landscape of motorcycle travel shifted. They sparked a global wanderlust, redefined the adventure genre, and gave BMW a cultural moment that still echoes across the industry. To this day, it remains an iconic series ingrained into motorcycle lore, and a benchmark for modern-day travel shows.

This weekend, we sat down to watch the first two episodes of their fourth and latest adventure, Long Way Home. Spanning 17 countries over two months, it’s shaping up to be another must-watch. Many of the places they visit – through the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and into the north – are already familiar favourites on the Magellan calendar.

In the opening episodes, they choose their bikes, chart their “way home”, and hit the road. There’s that same familiar chemistry, the pre-trip jitters, and the irresistible pull of the open road. It’s as evocative as ever.

Our Norway and Sweden tours, which chart a similar route, have been fully booked for the year. But thinking ahead, we’ve bent over backwards to secure a few more hotel rooms and motorcycles. We’re making these spaces available today for you!

We’ve been in the mountains of Spain and Northern Portugal again this week – and boy has it delivered! Golden sunshine, great routes, and incredible food.

So far, our riders have swept through the towering peaks of the Picos de Europa, traced the old pilgrim path to Santiago, crossed wild national parks into the Douro Valley, and climbed high into the Serra da Estrela. And there’s more to come… This corner of the Iberian Peninsula was one of the first places we explored as a touring company, and to this day, it remains among the very finest.

Here are some photos from the road so far!

A fantastic office day out with Greg Allen & Ben Spear to at the Ripley HQ of today.

Perfect weather for a ride on some of the Peak District’s best roads.

If you haven’t done a BikeSafe course, we cannot recommend it highly enough. Adam, Mat, & Barney were entertaining, supremely knowledgeable and importantly, really friendly and approachable.

A day spent riding with and learning from the best motorcyclists you’re likely to find anywhere. Great value for money and a fabulous skills refresher for the start of the riding season! 👌

Can you name this road?

It loops past glacier-carved valleys, storm-battered coastlines, and villages where Gaelic is still spoken over pints and peat fires. One moment you're tracing the curve of the Atlantic, the next you're riding beneath moss-draped oaks in a national park where red deer roam wild.

This now legendary route follows a path walked more than 2,000 years ago, once used by monks and traders – and later by Viking raiders. From its cliffs, you can glimpse Skellig Michael, an island sanctuary where stone beehive huts have withstood wind and sea for over a millennium – and where a certain Jedi once hid from the galaxy.

Ten Magellan points for anyone who can tell us which road these photos are from!

There’s a moment in the Alps when everything else fades – the map, the miles behind, the noise of the world – and only the road ahead remains.

Magellan’s new eight-day Alps tour is the most direct route we know to Europe’s most iconic ribbons of tarmac: Furka, Susten, Nufenen, Grimsel, Stelvio. Names that stir something in the soul of every rider – once patrolled by Roman legions, crossed by Napoleon’s armies, and immortalised on screen by Bond.

Now, these legendary passes form the backbone of a journey that winds through the heart of the Swiss Alps before descending to the elegance and sunlit serenity of Italy’s great lakes.

Spaces are already limited for our inaugural departure on 16th September. Full details and booking information are available via the link in the comments.
