We were invited to Pennywell Farm (PR visit) in Buckfastleigh, Devon for a family day out and enjoyed an action packed family day on the farm.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming and were quick to offer their recommendations on how to get the most out of our day. There are activities every half an hour throughout the day, so if you want to try and get around everything, it’s worth getting a photo of the schedule on the way in and planning your route around.

Staying all day? Lunch is covered with various food and refreshments outlets. The pasties are delicious and so too is the coffee!

We’ve been to many local Devon attractions and even farm style attractions further afield but Pennywell’s offering is certainly unique.

With rides, activities and hands on experiences with the animals, Pennywell Farm is a fantastic choice for a family day out. Their staff team certainly bring your day to life with informative talks and attentive customer service.

We love it at Haldon! 🚲🌲🐿️

Wondering what to do with the kids? Why not visit Haldon?

Here’s our top tips for a great day out…

🌲Before leaving home we recommend downloading the Zog app as signal can be weak here on the hill. (Zog A Forest Adventure)

🌲On arrival get your Zog pack at our information pod (£4)

🌲 Adventure onto the Discovery Trail and explore with Zog.

🌲 Test your climbing skills in our play area, don't forget to enjoy a moment in the hammock.

🌲 Build a sand castle in the sand pit.

🌲Warm you and your bike up in the pump track before practicing your skills in the skills area.

🌲Enjoy a picnic with a view.

🌲Get a selfie with the Gruffalo.

🌲Treat yourself to an ice cream.

🌲Don't forget to pack a bottle of water.

24hrs went all too fast before cut our weekend short 😢. has everything for a wholesome family camping weekend. Just a shame we couldn’t stick around all weekend to continue our adventure. Highlights included:
🐶 Dog Pen
📖bedtime stories
🥓Food court
🌅 Stunning views

Worth a visit with family or as a couple. There’s even a posh onsite restaurant, festival style bars, food court and plenty nearby to explore.
