We are so excited for this Saturday!

This Saturday is nearly upon us!

The Round Our Way Heritage Walks team are ready to follow in Florence's Footsteps and clamber up and around Malham Cove, in full costume, to raise funds for the Florence Sculpture, due to be unveiled in July 2028. after all women got the vote.

There is just enough time to donate; the modern-day equivalent price of a shilling (£7.33) was the cost of an annual subscription to the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies. Florence set up Wakefield's branch in 1910 at Hatefeild Hall.

If you want the exclusive gossip, photographs and videos from the day (anything could happen and we won't hold back), you can have it for the price of a shilling.

Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored us so far to wander the lanes and climb the hillocks and slopes of Malham in full Victorian Costume, following in the footsteps of Florence Beaumont.

Some are wondering what refreshments we shall be partaking of.

Here is the menu. It's true to the food Edwardians would take on picnics, and we can't wait to tuck in!

The team are super excited about this fundraising event.

We are clambering and climbing the paths and trails around Malham in FULL costume... so you don't have to!

Dream Time Creative & The Forgotten Women of Wakefield team are raising pennies for our Florence Beaumont Sculpture, and we'd love it if you felt you could donate the cost of a shilling (£7.33), which was the annual fee to be a member of the National Union of Suffrage Societies - the very society Florence set up at Hatfeild Hall here in Wakefield in 1910.

In return, you will get a copy of an image of the original shilling AND, after the event, photos from our antics.

Who KNOWS what will happen on the day, but rest assured, only those who donate will get to know all the gossips!

Thank you so much to everyone who came to our wonderful walk yesterday at Heath Common.

We hope you loved it as much as we did!

The weather was entirely appropriate for a walk around this historic village, sharing stories of women who changed the course of history and who have left an indelible mark on our DNA through 400-year-old folklore, links to the French Revolution and the French Royal Court.

A huge thank you must go to the team and to the wonderful people of Heath who allowed us to visit some very special places not normally open to the public.

All funds raised go towards our Florence Beaumont sculpture, due to be unveiled in July 2028. Florence's grandfather was a resident of Heath... and she played golf and tennis in the village frequently!
Join us on our next walk, Murder & Mayhem, October 28th 2026, for an evening dedicated to Death Biscuits, Funeral Traditions, Tales of Bears, shootings and graveyards!

What an absolutely fabulous evening we had on our Summer Murder & Mayhem Heritage Walk yesterday evening.

Thank you to everyone who came to enjoy tales of body snatchers, rotting corpses, violent bears, gunshots, slippers and sieges!

We look forward to seeing many of you at our next walk around Heath when you will learn all about Dame Mary Bolles, witchcraft, battles and empire building - keep an eye out for our Eventbrite link coming soon!
