The EIF announces yet another milestone in its resources mobilisation journey. The Fund was recently accredited by the Adaptation Fund as a National Implementing Entity. The Fund is able to access USD20 Million USD, approximately N$370 Million.

The Environmental Investment Fund (EIF) was honored to receive a courtesy visit from Hon. Kadiva Hamutumwa, Governor of the Ohangwena Region.

During the meeting, Mr. Benedict Libanda, Chief Executive Officer of EIF, highlighted a range of the Fund’s strategic interventions including the Small Grants Facility, Green Impact Facility, and the Youth Enterprise Development Fund. These initiatives were presented as potential instruments to support and align with the developmental priorities of the Ohangwena Region.

The engagement provided a platform for meaningful dialogue on how EIF’s funding mechanisms can empower communities, particularly the youth, and contribute toward inclusive green growth in the region. Ohangwena Regional Council

GCIP-Namibia Launches National Academy to Accelerate Cleantech Innovation and Empower Local Entrepreneurs

The Global Cleantech Innovation Programme(GCIP) Namibia
today launched its flagship National Academy, a dynamic three-day accelerator event designed to equip Namibian cleantech startups with the tools, mentorship and exposure needed to scale their innovations for national and global impact.

The event, brings together 15 promising semi-finalist teams for intensive capacity building, mentorship and investor readiness support. The Academy is a strategic initiative under GCIP Namibia, jointly implemented by the Environmental
Investment Fund (EIF) of Namibia and the UNIDO - United Nations Industrial Development Organization with generous funding from the Global Environment Facility. It aligns with Namibia’s Vision 2030, its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and its national green growth and climate
resilience agendas.

Over the course of three days, participants will engage in targeted workshops, pitch coaching, market
validation, business model refinement and one-on-one mentorship. Key focus areas include clean energy, sustainable agriculture, water and waste management and technologies promoting land degradation neutrality.

COURTESY: The Board of Directors and the executive management of the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister Environment Forestry and Tourism, Hon. Indileni Daniel. During the courtesy visit, the team briefed the minister on the governance and operations of the fund which include previous, current and future interventions. The Minister appreciated the work that the EIF does as well as the impact of such interventions. She encouraged for service excellence in serving the Namibian people denoting that the government of the day will not tolerate the business as usual approach.
