We organise boat cruises for business events, weddings and private parties. On board you can enjoy an extensive bar with drinks, snacks and we cater for your breakfast, lunch or dinner meeting. Meet your Captain ⚓🇳🇱

Here at Aemstelland, our skippers are a big part of what makes every cruise special. Today, we’re introducing you to Captain Isabel 🤍

We asked her a few questions to get to know her a little better:

How long have you been a skipper, and what got you into it?
“I’ve been working full-time as a skipper on the canals for four years now. I grew up in Amsterdam, and we always had a boat. I was always eager to learn and help with sailing and steering, and I got my first boat license when I was 16 years old.”

What’s an Amsterdam secret tourists don’t know?
“A fun fact tourists often don’t know is that behind some of the houses, you’ll find huge hidden gardens! Amsterdam’s city centre is surprisingly green, with plenty of parks and hidden gems.”

And what’s something you love about being a skipper?
“As the skipper, I always have the best view from the front of the boat. But you’re always welcome to come up front and have a look! Don’t be shy!”
