Sorry for the late post!
Part I: Limon Grand Parade
A glimpse into Limon grand parade.
Celebrating Afro descendants and Caribbean culture.
Throughout the month of August parades took place in various communities all over Costa Rica.
August 31st culminates with the Grande parade in the historic Puerto Limón. The parade is about celebrating and showcasing Black/African and Caribbean roots. Hence, they wear outfits that symbolizes that accompanied by rhythms of Soca, Reggae and Afrobeats.
It is a true celebration in black pride and culture. However, other ethnicities participate to show solidarity. It really feels like one big family reunion unlike typical parades.
Our founder was honored to be present this year. We look forward to returning next year with our Sistars!
Thank you Costa Rica 🇨🇷 for an enriching experience!
