The sound fishing has gotten tough the last two days. But today’s big winds changed that around. Hook-up said it was sustained 36 gusting to over 40. I would have to agree with him. This morning I fished in the Holla Breakers, but this afternoon it was all we could do too get the anchor to stick somewhere so we held position. I’ve fished in some wind before but I think this afternoon takes the cake. Im glad I was in the Big Pink Boat!!

The ocean has been to rough for the Pathfinder boat, so we’ve stayed in the sound the last few days.. Becky caught a giant drum last night that even the tape measure Bandit would call a big un!! But it’s been a struggle and the bites haven’t come easy!

River and I took off to catch a few bluefish this morning for dinner but we never could find any.. So off on an adventure we went. I ended up in 19 fathoms on the 030 where the gaffers jumped us multiple times.. he said he was tired of cranking so back to the Barn we went…. Quickest gaffer trip I ever been apart of!

I really hit the struggle bus this afternoon.. Jill caught a short cobia, and a few Spanish but I saw capt. Rick on the Speck-Tacklar off in the distance and knew if I got close too him I’d catch a few convicts!! Well I was a little too close for comfort and saw what he’s been using to out-fish me all spring!!! Live sea Urchins! No wonder he caught a dozen and we only had 4!!!!!

My man chumlee held up his part of the bargain from last year, told me first fish he caught he’d get a tatoo of…. Well he caught a bluefish and he’s the first person I ever knew to get a bluefish tatoo!!! I love it!!!!! Today was some tough fishing the Sea Biscuit and I shared a spot this morning to get them going on a tough bite. Black sheep, Tunas, Blues, drum, and Spanish rounded out our day….

Wreck Dawg tried to follow me this morning to podunk point but I walked away from him once it got choppy! We had the 350 Honda screaming for sure! Drum, Spanish, Blacksheep, Blues.. everything but a cobia. I did get a good report from this afternoon so it looks like we taking a boat ride tomorrow!!!!

It was quite a week with team tip crankers! Im not sure how Kim made it 25 years without a driving accident, He sure couldn’t drive a boat straight this week!!!! The cobias never made a showing for us, but the sheepshead fishing was epic and we braved some rough conditions!

I must have screwed up my schedule today because nobody showed up this morning, but that’s ok after yesterdays long ride...

I must have screwed up my schedule today because nobody showed up this morning, but that’s ok after yesterdays long ride to fish some new structure had to give the PINK boat a little rest.. Some crazy wind came through and a Front line hit us just as I rounded the shoals and I was sure glad we wasn’t in a glorified bass boat!!
