The Camp Tilikum Potlatch events this week were incredibly encouraging! Altogether, 124 people attended, including 44 new guests or friends who haven’t attended in a long time.
About 40 guests came early to tour one of the new Lakeside Cabins. It was fun to show off the building progress and see so many people interested and asking questions.
As a result of this year’s banquet—including gifts and new one-year pledges—more than $56,358 was raised. This was one of our best years yet! In addition, more than 300 families are praying regularly for Tilikum.
We project the Lakeside Cabins will be completed by December 2026. But completing the cabins is only part of what is needed to make this new area of camp fully functional. Over the coming year, we will be focusing on several additional capital projects that will help us provide the best possible experience for campers, retreat guests, and staff.
The Tilikum Lodge has bedrooms, meeting rooms, and dining space all under one roof. The new Lakeside Cabins are different. To make them work well, we need good paths connecting the cabins with the meeting rooms and dining facilities throughout camp, along with several other improvements.
Here are the major projects we hope to address in the coming year:
• Half mile of improved paths, including lighting — $28,000
• Lakeside Road improvements, including gravel, excavation, and an entrance sign — $19,000
• Landscaping for the Lakeside parking lot and cabin areas — $13,000
• Eight RV spaces in the parking lot for guests and volunteers — $9,000
• Upgrades to meeting rooms in the Barn, School, and Fawver — $6,000
• Housekeeping and food-service equipment for staff — $10,000
Total capital needs: $85,000
