When the picture doesn’t tell the whole story…

Years ago, Mike and I got off a cruise ship in Progreso, Mexico, and wandered away from the places everyone else seemed to be heading.

Somewhere along the streets, we found a little bar and stopped for nachos and a Corona.

There were maybe six people there.

The Corona special came with those yellow bottle lanyards, and before long our little group started inviting everyone who walked by to come in and have a drink with us.

One table became two. Then another.

By the end of the day, the bar was full, and or necks were covered in yellow lanyards. The photo in the Polaroid is real!

We never really went anywhere else.

And all these years later, we still talk about the day we accidentally filled a bar in Progreso.

Travel creates the stories you’ll tell around the kitchen table for a lifetime.

You can plan the vacation. You can’t always plan the story you’ll bring home.
