A little update from our family’s place in Poipu 🐢

We’re grateful the Surfing Turtle came through the storm without damage. Recovery continues across Kauai, and supporting local businesses that are ready to welcome visitors makes a real difference.

We have a few October dates remaining and more availability in November, with special fall rates for stays completed by November 15.

Seeing sea turtles in Kauai is unforgettable - let’s keep it that way. 🌺🐢

Here’s how to enjoy them the right way:

✅ Give them space: Stay at least 20 feet away on land and in the water. If you’re on a boat, keep 50 yards back.
✅ Never touch, chase, or feed them: It’s illegal under federal and Hawaii state law, and fines can exceed $1,500.
✅ Respect resting turtles: If one is basking on the beach, treat the area like it’s roped off. Don’t block its path to the ocean.
✅ Wear reef-safe sunscreen: Choose mineral-based options to protect the coral reefs turtles depend on.
✅ Keep your fins up: When snorkeling, move slowly and avoid kicking the reef or stirring up sand.

Give turtles space. Protect their home. Be the kind of visitor Hawaii welcomes back. 🌊💚
