Mahay's Jet Boat Adventures

We offer four different excursions: the Wilderness Jet Boat Tour, the Chulitna Gorge Tour, the Devil’s Canyon Tour and the River, Rail & Trail. All of our trips do a ¼ mile nature walk where you will visit a Dena’ina Indian encampment and a trapper’s cabin where we show you how these two

different settlers of the area lived, along with furs and traps. While on the water, the boat will stop along the way at various points to talk about the mountain, differences in the river and you will go by an active bald eagles nest. If the weather is good, you will have beautiful mountain views throughout the journey. The 2 hour and 3.5 hour begin on the Talkeetna and head ten miles up the Susitna to our Adventure Site and the nature walk portion. The Chulitna Gorge trip does this basic 2 hour Wilderness Excursion portion but takes you also up the Chulitna River. The Chulitna is a beautiful, unique braided river that changes into a a rock wall gorge with breathtaking views of Denali (weather permitting). This trip takes you 130 miles round trip through Denali National Park and into Devil’s Canyon which is class 5 whitewater! We take the boat just a little ways into the canyon and hold it there for you feel the power of the waves. You will be able to see into class 6 and experiencing the power of one of the most dangerous canyons in North America from the safety and comfort of our 47' Jet Boat.
