19.10.20: Travellers from Switzerland are allowed to enter South Africa. Travellers from Germany or Austria are not allowed to enter South Africa. ALL travellers who stay longer than 3 months in South Africa are allowed to enter South Africa. Every traveller needs to have a valid, negative Covid-19 test certificate, not older than 72 hours.
Namibia: The borders are open, but it is rather complicated to travel to Namibia. Note: it is all "subject to applicable health regulations."
Botswana: The borders are closed.
Zambia & Zimbabwe: The borders are open, health regulations apply.

Dear Travellers,

due to the Corona virus outbreak, South Africa goes into hibernation from 26 March for 3 weeks.

With so many people having to stay at home, it might be the time to watch documentaries about our wonderful countries in Southern Africa, to read travel books or to look at pictures from past trips. Southern Africa will need you travellers in order to recover from our lockdown and all its consequences. Stay home, stay healthy and keep in touch!

like to extend a big "thank you" to all accommodation places, activity organisers, transport companies and organisers of guided tours who have committed to allow to postpone booked trips to South Africa and to transfer payments done to the new date. This is fantastic and very much a forward thinking. Clients who were so much looking forward to come to our beautiful country now have something to be happy about whilst staying at home. It is hard time to come for many of us, but generosity will win at the end of the Corona days. THANK YOU TO ALL!

Das kleine Restaurant Wolfgat in Paternoster wurde bei den neu ins Leben gerufenen «World Restaurant Awards» mit dem Hauptpreis ausgezeichnet.
Es umfasst nur 20 Plätze und bietet ein kulinarisches Erlebnis, das jedoch nicht allen Besuchern zusagen wird. Kobus kocht mit allem, was die Westküste anbietet, von Rooibos bis Seetang.
