What an incredible day out at sea! Our guests and crew were treated to unforgettable sightings, not only of the sleek and powerful Bronze whaler sharks, but also of the ancient Broadnose sevengill shark, a species that has remained virtually unchanged for over 150 million years. On our final trip of the day, three individual Sevengills gave our divers some truly breathtaking close encounters. Nature at its finest! 🦈

Today we were delighted to welcome the Condé Nast Traveler España team on an exclusive shark cage diving tour in Gansbaai, South Africa.

Shark’s Little Helper 🦈

Look closely… can you spot the Remora hitching a ride on this shark?
Also nicknamed “sucking fish”, these fascinating creatures are sometimes seen during our shark cage diving trips – not just with sharks, but also with rays, dolphins, and even large whales!

It’s all part of a symbiotic relationship:
🔹 The Remora gets a free ride and protection from predators.
🔹 The shark enjoys a spa treatment – with the Remora removing parasites from its skin and even inside its mouth.

Joining us for Shark cage diving? Upon arrival at The Great White House, you’ll be welcomed by your Marine Guide for the day and go through a quick check-in process. Please note: a check-in link can be provided in advance, feel free to pre-check in online for a smoother start to your day. Your guide will always double-check your wetsuit and bo**ie sizes upon arrival to ensure the best fit.

We provide all divers with a clean, dry 5mm wetsuit and bo**ies, as well as life jackets, and a orange weather jackets before boarding our boat, Slashfin.

Our Shed-master and dedicated Marine Academy volunteers will prepare your dive kit, which will be handed over by your guide once on board.

(*take at least two hours before the boat departs. Please note that we are not allowed to provide medication.)

We also provide fresh towels, warm blankets, and a hot shower rinse after your dive to keep you comfortable. Light snacks and hot drinks are available on board to enjoy after your time in the water.
