Baie geluk aan tannie Emmie October wat gister haar 90ste verjaarsdag by The Great White House Restaurant saam met die dames van Silverjare en tannie Mariaan Steyn Burger kom vier het!

Wat ’n spesiale voorreg om hierdie mylpaal saam met so ’n dierbare mens te kon vier. Tannie Emmie is vir ons baie na aan die hart – sy is een van die tannies wat met soveel sorg en liefde ons geskenksakkies van herwinde koerante maak. Haar handewerk en toewyding beteken vir ons ongelooflik baie.

’n Groot dankie aan Dyer Island Conservation Trust wat die ete geborg het, en aan ons Curio Shop wat vir tannie Emmie ’n spesiale geskenkie oorhandig het om hierdie besondere dag te vier.

En natuurlik, dankie aan tannie Mariaan Burger – vir u liefde, omgee en alles wat u doen vir die breë gemeenskap. Hierdie dag was ’n mooi herinnering aan hoe kosbaar ons mense is.

Goodbye, Karin Kleyn.

Thank you for being such an incredible colleague and neighbour to us for so many years!

We will miss you—your love for animals (including sharks!), your visits with your mom, and, of course, your signature order of crumbed mushrooms at the Great White House restaurant (and your protests if they brought five instead of six!).

There was nothing Kleyn about you—you lived and fought boldly, right until the end.

We will miss you. Rest in peace. Sending strength and support to your mom, sister, Kim, and the entire Shark Lady team during this difficult time.
