The Celtic quarter days are surrounded in rituals and beliefs in our folkloric traditions. I was fortunate enough to obtain a degree (Hons) in Folklore and loved studying these special times of the year.

My mother taught me this song in my youth. We still sing it at family sing-songs. It's a traditional Scottish/Irish song exploring themes of romance and loyalty, featuring a lass hoping to be reunited with her beloved.

Are you blind to Gaelic? Whilst we have more bilingual signage being visible across the country it is clear that without people having access to Gaelic language education and learning, the signs (and culture) remain inaccessible to many.
It's never too late to start learning and enjoying Gaelic. Fàilte!!!

A reflective song about loss and displacement, centered on being denied access to the land and a way of life. It is attributed to Norman Nicolson, who later emigrated, and carries a sense of change, frustration, and leaving home behind. Only two verses sung here.
