In August I took my 11‑year‑old daughter to Orlando for a very special celebration to mark the end of primary school. It was a trip we had talked about for years and it turned out to be everything we hoped for and more – both magical and exhausting, yet ultimately joyful.

Back from two weeks of family adventure in Orlando, exploring every Disney and Universal park!

This was my holiday of dreams, and I properly switched off while I was away. Now I’ve got so much to share.

The school holidays have landed, and with them, the end of an era. My daughter finished Year 6, and it’s suddenly really apparent how quickly time passes.

On Friday we packed up and headed to Norfolk for a change of pace, with a few days of glamping, slow mornings and fresh air. No school run, no rushing, no emails.

Juggling the holidays alongside running a business is never simple, and my availability is a bit more limited over the next few weeks. Then on 7 August I’ll pause new enquiries as I prepare for our long-awaited family adventure in Orlando.

Back at my desk. Sun-kissed, inspired, and busy catching up on enquiries.

Last week I was in the Seychelles for the annual TC Gold trip - a trip reserved for Travel Counsellors who’ve reached the highest tier in the business. Surrounded by some of the best travel experts in the industry, I got to experience the Seychelles for the very first time.

There’s something quite special about visiting a new destination with people who are just as obsessed with travel as you are. People who share my zest for life and the belief that it’s too short to sit things out.

First-hand experience is everything in this job. I can now tell you exactly what it feels like to arrive by boat to Silhouette Island (and why the helicopter transfer is a must), to snorkel those waters, and to watch the sun drop behind the granite peaks. That’s what you get when you book with a travel expert who genuinely loves to travel.

And if you’ve been sitting on a summer holiday plan, now is the time to move. Demand is high, availability is shifting fast; and for those with the Middle East on their radar, the FCDO lifted its advice against travel via the region while I was away, opening up routing options that simply weren’t there a few months ago.
