Team member Katie H. has recently returned from beautiful North Macedonia, and shared these wonderful photos as she reflects on her holiday:

🗨️"North Macedonia offered me a rare kind of peace, from the serene lakes of Mavrovo National Park to the calming presence of Sveti Jovan Bigorski Monastery. I trekked along wild trails, listened to the rush of rivers, the thunder of waterfalls, and took in the sweeping views from mountain hamlets. In Galicnik, I felt like I had stepped into a timeless village, and the homemade mezze in a cosy local spot was the perfect way to end the trip.

This journey was more than just hiking – it was a full immersion in nature, culture and tradition. I'm looking forward to returning one day to explore more of the grand architecture."

It's festival season in Europe, and there's plenty to enjoy between walks! 🚶

🍷 Over the next week, those in the charming Alsace region of France will be heading to Colmar for the lively 'Foire aux Vins d’Alsace', where they'll drink wine, listen to live music and watch quality dancing and cooking shows.

🎵 Further afield in Latvia, the International Opera Festival is gracing the historic town of Sigulda, giving locals and tourists the opportunity to watch opera performances with the picturesque castle ruins as a backdrop.

Ian G. recently went on a spontaneous trip along the Via Francigena, travelling between Lucca and Siena. He wanted to savour both the walk and take time for sightseeing, breaking up the journey to enjoy it at a comfortable pace.

Have you ever wondered what lies beyond the tourist map?
Team member Rhiannon did just that – trading Colombia’s typical trails for remote rainforest routes.

She journeyed through rocky hills and dense forest, travelled winding rivers by traditional dugout canoe, and discovered secret swimming spots where she encountered pink river dolphins. Guided by a local, she hiked to the sacred Cerros de Mavecure – a trio of striking tepuis – scrambling up steep terrain to reach breathtaking panoramic views.

As Rhiannon puts it, this route “offers a glimpse into a country’s soul, something that bustling cities or popular tourist spots often cannot provide.”
