It's the year 1900, blast furnaces are glowing red hot, pit wheels are lowering weary workers down into the mine, the Shropshire canal is heaving with barges and at the end of the day all you can think about is fish & chips cooked in beef dripping for tea. This is Blists Hill Victorian Town, where you exchange pounds for shillings on arrival and there's not a card machine in sight!

👑🌼Their Majesties arrived in style at Sandringham Flower Show in a unique door-less carriage, originally designed for Queen Victoria. The national anthem was played by the excellent local Springwood High School band, the sun came out from behind the clouds, and a glorious day was had by all. Time flies by here but it's well worth taking a wander through the park gates to the spectacular gardens that surround Sandringham House (which is usually charged at an extra £15pp!). Next year, there's due to be an exciting new RHS show at Sandringham but the Flower Show will be back to charm and delight in 2027 - watch this space!
