Joyful Noise is Salisbury Cathedral's new contemporary art exhibition and runs until 25 October 🖼️🎨

It reimagines the biblical call to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” as a modern take on how sound can unite, inspire, and celebrate.

The exhibition brings together painting, sculpture, text, video, and sound artworks to explore how joyful noise can affirm presence, belief, community, and care.

Joyful Noise is open during the cathedral's visiting hours, and is included with general admission. Don't forget, there's free entry for residents of SP1-SP5 - all you need is proof of address!

Step into an immersive production of Romeo and Juliet at Salisbury Playhouse this May and June 🎭

To mark the 50th anniversary of Salisbury Playhouse opening, the interior, exterior and surrounding public spaces have been transformed into Shakespeare's Verona for this dynamic staging of Romeo and Juliet.

An engaging promenade production, audiences are transported through different scenes, whilst wearing headphones, fully immersed into the action.

Far from a stuffy rendition, Wiltshire Creative's Romeo and Juliet reimagines the classic story with parkour, gritty, urban settings and modern costuming.

Be sure to see this one whilst you can, you've certainly seen nothing like it!

Salisbury now has an official designated bathing space! 🏊💧

The River Avon at Queen Elizabeth Gardens is one of 13 new bathing sites in England with effect from 15 May 2026.

This means the Environment Agency will now carry out weekly water quality testing at the site throughout the summer, meaning swimmers are better informed about water quality.

So, if you fancy a dip, why not head down to Queen Elizabeth Gardens? ☀️
