Non-Kenyan travellers visiting for under 12 months are now required to hold valid travel health insurance with at least USD 50,000 total cover, including minimum levels for medical expenses, emergency transportation, prescribed medicines, mental health treatment and repatriation.

There’s nothing to see in the desert? Namibia would like a word. 🇳🇦

At first glance, much of Namibia can look impossibly empty. Look closer and it becomes one of Africa’s most extraordinary ecosystems.

🌫️ Along the coast, Atlantic fog drifts across the Namib and becomes a vital source of moisture in a landscape that receives remarkably little rain. Even tiny fog-basking beetles have evolved ways to collect water straight from the air.

🐘 Head into the north-west and the scale changes again. Desert-adapted elephants move through dry riverbeds, while black rhino, lion, giraffe, Hartmann’s mountain zebra, oryx and springbok survive in landscapes that seem almost uninhabitable.

🏜️ At Sossusvlei, dunes rise hundreds of metres above the desert floor. Big Daddy reaches around 325m, while nearby Deadvlei is scattered with trees thought to have been standing for roughly 900 years.

🦏 Then there’s Etosha, one of Africa’s great wildlife areas, home to more than 100 mammal species and 400+ recorded bird species.

And somehow that still leaves the Skeleton Coast, enormous salt pans, mountains, Atlantic coastline, dark skies and some of the most extraordinary open space on the continent.

The desert isn’t the bit between the sights. It is the sight.
