DAY 1 on the Camino Portuguese and already magic in the air .. . Look what our pilgrim who is on the ground now shared .

The weather here has been fantastic. Only a a couple of showery days, no rain at all.

The accommodations have been excellent except 1 but it was so funny it didn’t matter.

I have been mostly on the same route and accommodations as another woman from the UK, booked by you as well which is how I worked out the distance thing. She has broken this part Vila do Pinheiro to Barcelos into 2 days because of the bigger distance.

My feet are absolutely shredded from the 4 days of 27,29&28 at the beginning. I admit to not quite managing the last 28km day and got an Uber. I’ve found I’m ok at 20kms but 28kms is pushing it.

The countryside is beautiful, lots and lots of wild flowers, and the gardens all smell amazing with the spring flowers all out in bloom. The churches are so beautiful and the bells are a bit like the musical boxes we had as kids.

We ran into Sir Graham Henry and his group in Porto who are also doing the Camino starting tomorrow.

So far it has been a great experience.Thankyou for making this happen . You really know your stuff
Cheers Liz
