Vulcan® Cladding is a genuine alternative to Western Red Cedar.

We had cedar from Auckland building stock tree-ring tested. Three of the ten samples were at least 400 years old.[1] Vulcan is rapidly renewable New Zealand Radiata, heat tempered and ready to harvest in as little as 27 years, from Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified plantations.

After 7.5 years of outdoor testing, it significantly outperformed Canadian Western Red Cedar heartwood on decay resistance.[2]

A pergola gives an outdoor room its shape.

Elm Grove steps down a steep, wooded lakefront site in Milwaukee, following the land instead of imposing on it. Vetter Architects terraced the home towards the water, with glazing that grows more generous as the house rises, drawing the woodland inside.

Wrapping the home in timber grounds its modern form in the landscape. Vulcan® Cladding in Protector™ Teak gives the façade warmth and texture, and its clear vertical grain keeps the look refined across every level.

On a waterside site, the timber also had to perform. Made from rapidly renewable New Zealand Radiata and heat tempered using heat and steam, Vulcan absorbs less moisture and stays stable without chemical preservatives. Abodo's vertical grain engineering helps the boards stay straight through changing weather.
