Can you experience history through scent? 👃🌿 Absolutely! And a museum exhibition can be the perfect place for a little sensory exploration.

Last week, as part of the Culture Without Barriers Festival , I had the pleasure of designing and leading two multisensory experiences at the Muzeum Historii Żydów Polskich POLIN / POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw.

✨ A scent-inspired tour of the permanent exhibition – a brand-new experience making its debut! And a perfume-making workshop inspired by The Jewish Town, one of my favourite galleries in the museum.

There were fragrances, memories, unexpected associations and plenty of fascinating conversations. I love those moments when a single scent brings so many different stories to life! 😍

A huge thank you to all the participants for their curiosity, wonderful energy and endless questions! To the POLIN Museum Education Team for their trust, creativity and fantastic collaboration, and to the interpreters for helping make these experiences accessible and welcoming to everyone.

This is exactly how I love bringing history to life – through the senses, imagination and emotions.

Because sometimes, to discover something new in a museum, all you need to do is… close your eyes and follow your nose! 💛

3.5 hours by train from Warsaw — and you’re in a completely different Poland. 🚆🇵🇱

Bielsko-Biała was a quick stop, so quick that I’m still wondering whether I was in Silesia, the Cieszyn region, or already in Lesser Poland. 😉

But one thing was clear: the traces of old Galicia are still very much alive — especially on the plate. 🇦🇹

Take sztuka mięsa w sosie chrzanowym — tender beef with horseradish sauce, supposedly enjoyed by Emperor Franz Joseph himself. 👑 I’m not going to argue with an emperor.

Add beautiful architecture, art, the Beskid Mountains — and places like Pod Dębowcem (), where even the bathroom has more personality than some trendy restaurants. 😍🦜

Bielsko-Biała is Poland’s Capital of Culture 2026, and definitely a place to put on your radar if you’re looking for a more unexpected stop on a Poland trip.

What does a former shtetl taste like? In Szydłów, my answer is: plums. 💜🍦
A medieval town, a 16th-century synagogue, the legend of Esterka — and plums everywhere. Even in my ice cream.
My new Tasting Jewish Poland story follows Szydłów through Jewish history, local flavours and the plum preserves I later bring back to my cooking workshops in Warsaw.

My city break from Warsaw? It’s a visit to Konstancin. 🌿

Sometimes, you don’t have to go far to feel like you’ve left the city behind. My idea for a little escape from Warsaw is Park Zdrojowy in Konstancin.

Old trees, slow walks along the Jeziorka River, leafy paths and the salt graduation tower at Uzdrowisko Konstancin-Zdrój. It feels a little like a holiday in a spa town — without the suitcase or the travel planning.

And there’s something very Warsaw about this place. Since the late 19th century, Konstancin has been developing as an elegant summer retreat for Warsaw residents, and in 1917 it officially became a spa resort. Even better? You can get here from Warsaw by public transport — using a regular ticket valid in Zone 1.

A big city, a great sense of calm 🌿

Warsaw as a place associated with the slow rhythm of life? Hmm… 🤔 And yet, the pace at which we spend our free time in a city largely depends on us.

For many years now, I’ve been spending my summers in the city — working! And I’m enjoying this kind of summer more and more. Because increasingly, I can show people around in my own way. 🚶‍♀️ No tourist relay race and no pre-planned itinerary put together behind a desk, where you simply have to “tick off” one attraction after another. ✖️

On my walks, we can follow the rhythm of the day, the weather, seasonal events and the interests of the participants. ☀️🌦️ We can stop wherever it happens to be beautiful. 🌳 Drop into an exhibition, sit in the shade, see the city from the Vistula 🌊 or take a break for something delicious. ☕️🥐

And above all — I can show Warsaw the way I like it myself. 💚

Summer’s sweetest dilemma? 💙🍓

A warm, buttery bun with blueberries — the unmistakable taste of high summer? Or perhaps a soft strawberry bun, carrying the last delicious notes of late spring?

Both crowned with a generous layer of crisp, golden crumble. Both impossible to resist.

Some choices simply don’t need a winner. They just deserve another cup of coffee and a slow afternoon.

Wrapping up an inspiring seminar for teachers and educators. I’m leaving with nearly 40 pages of notes, a full-page reading list, and one tiny piece of emergency origami folded during the lectures. 📚✏️🪽
Most importantly, I’m taking home a deeper understanding of what matters to teachers today and plenty of ideas to bring into my own workshops, guided tours, and educational projects.
The best kind of professional development is the one that reminds you there’s always something new to learn.
