NEW EXHIBIT at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston 👑🐪⚱️

Maverick Kings: Three Visionary Pharaohs of Egypt's Golden Age is now open - running September 6 through December 6!

Step into ancient Egypt's 18th Dynasty and meet three of its most iconic rulers: Hatshepsut, Amenhotep III, and Akhenaten. Each used art and imagery to shape their legacy and hold onto power.

Inside, you'll find major monuments to Hatshepsut, a nearly 6-foot-tall falcon statue, and a portrait of the legendary boy king Tutankhamen. Drawing from the MFA's world-renowned Egyptian collection plus loans from the Met, the Egyptian Museum in Berlin, and more, the exhibit closes with contemporary art showing just how far ancient Egypt's influence still reaches today.

Did you know that it could be less than 24 hours in Boston for an oyster to get from the water to your table? 🦪 One of the most unique things about Boston and New England based chefs is that they have such great access to local seafood. 

The Island Creek Oyster team not only sells and distributes their product, along almost 100 other farm’s products, to chefs across the country but they also have the opportunity to work even closer with New England based chefs, bringing them out to Duxbury Bay and seeing first-hand how much they care about the quality and freshness of the seafood.

Siena Farms is a family farm located in Sudbury Massachusetts. In its over two decades of operation, the team has cultivated 50 acres of protected farmland and grown over 100 varieties of vegetables, flowers, mushrooms for their year-round CSA, farm stores in the Boston Public Market and Boston’s South End and for local Boston restaurants and chefs.

Sit down with us as we meet Chris Kurth, Owner of Siena Farms, and one of his best customers, his wife, Ana Sortun, James Beard award winning Chef & Partner of some of Boston’s best establishments – Oleana, Sofra and Sarma.

We chat with them about the great relationship they have cultivated over the years working directly between restaurants and the local farm, the importance of access to great seasonal vegetables, and what makes farming and the ‘farm-to-table’ experience in New England both unique and special.
