It was a beautiful morning for the Town of Mooresville 25th Anniversary September 11 Memorial Ceremony! It began with a silent walk that commenced at 8:46 a.m., when the first plane struck the first tower, at Richard’s Coffee Shop, which is a military museum, gathering place, and eatery dedicated to America’s veterans, active duty personnel, and emergency services personnel.

From there, we walked to Liberty Park (how apropos!) for the ceremony. It was a moving ceremony with many speakers, performances, and prayer. One of the speakers, Bob Hogan, worked for a division of Bank of America at the time, shared his experience from that day, recalling being in his office on the 81st floor of World Trade Center 1 when the first plane struck, and his amazing escape from the building shortly before it fell. Truly a remarkable story!

The ceremony ended with a beautiful bag pipes performance, then the playing of Taps. It was a beautiful ceremony honoring this whose lives were lost, those who lost their lives from the effects of the aftermath, and those who put their lives at risk every day defending our freedoms. NEVER FORGET!!! ❤️ GOD BLESS THE U.S.A!!!! 🇺🇸
