Great Northwest Community Improvement Association, Inc. The Official Account for the Great Northwest Community located in San Antonio, Texas!

The Great Northwest Community Improvement Association is made up of approximately 5,000 homes and nearly 15,000 residents. Established in 1976 on the northwest side of San Antonio, the Great Northwest is the second-largest Homeowners Association in the state of Texas and is comprised of seven subdivisions. The neighborhood offers a variety of resident amenities including two large pools, recreational fields, lighted courts, playgrounds, and two private clubhouses. The Association offers an array of recreational activities for residents and non-residents alike including youth basketball, soccer, and swim team. Annual events include the fall and spring garage sales, the holiday market, car show, summer movie series, and holiday events which enhance community spirit and provide many opportunities for longtime and new residents to connect. The association is run by an elected seven-member Board of Directors who are selected annually by a vote of the membership. The Board of Directors are residents of the neighborhood who volunteer their time to provide guidance and oversight of the self-managed community. The Great Northwest Board of Directors meets twice monthly and welcomes and encourages the attendance and participation of homeowners in shaping the future of the neighborhood.

Neighbors Together is a community outreach initiative intended to bring neighborhoods together, while also fostering a police-community relationship.
Getting to form strong bonds with our fellow neighbors helps ensure our neighborhood is working together as a team. This is one of our many annual events to ensure that bond is not only made, but strengthened. 🚓🏡👮

This community event is hosted by multiple GNW Board Members along with various other GNW community members who register. This event is the perfect opportunity to grow the community, meet, greet, and have a bite to eat! 🏡

Join us on October 23rd for our 7th Annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat at the Silver Creek Soccer Fields (📍9014 Timber Path) from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM!

🍬🎃 Bring the whole family and enjoy an evening filled with Halloween fun, candy, costumes, and community spirit! Ghouls and goblins of all ages are welcome!

🚗 Want to Volunteer? Decorate your trunk and hand out treats to our little trick-or-treaters! Best of all, you do NOT need to be a GNW member to volunteer.

Join us on Saturday, October 3rd from 9am-1pm at the GNW soccer fields (9014 Timber Path) for one of our community's favorite annual traditions! 🏁

At this event, you'll be able to see trucks, motorcycles, and classic cars from all eras. This family-friendly event is an annual neighborhood tradition with food, raffle items, and car enthusiasts from across the city. 🥤🎶
