Cooler, wetter weather has moved into the area, with the 388-acre fire 25% contained as of Saturday, officials reported. Businesses in the Glitter Gulch area have reopened to customers now that a dayslong power outage has ended.

The Alaska Railroad canceled train service to the park, forcing many travelers to extend stays in Anchorage and elsewhere. Power outages and a lack of flush toilets and running water at lodges near the park added to the difficulty.

The busiest time of the year for tour kennels in Alaska is here. Iditarod week! Between the Fur Rondy and Iditarod we see a massive increase of sled dog enthusiasts. Rohn and I took advantage of having grandma here to watch Kaladin while we did tours and took the Hardwoods out for a short run.

So what do dog mushers do for fun after a long day of taking tour guests on rides? We take more dogs out for a run lol!
